Stuck at work until 11p Central, but I'll be taking a break when it's in full swing somewhere between 9 and 10 to go out into the subzero temps and take some pics, even brought my tripod with me today because I sure as hell won't have a steady hand.
I definitely plan to check it out with a nice vodka tonic. Of course, I'm easily entertained, and would probably just be watching the moon anyway, even without an eclipse.
Supposed to peak here at 10:53 EST. I'll probably go snap some picks off my back porch. It's way too godamn cold for the roof tonight, but I'm with you on the joint.
Nice and clear, and a beautiful orange tint to it here in Georgia. Plus, the dimmed moon means that the stars are more visible than normal. Doubly pretty. I wish I'd not recently sworn of smokes, as I'd almost certainly enjoy the fuck out of one with my vodka tonic.
Pictures to be added in a couple hours, but the sky was crystal clear for me, and a lovely -8F. Unfortunately the moon wasn't huge/looming, and my camera zoom isn't super awesome, so not as killer as it could have been. Still, judging by the display on the back of my camera, it looks like some of them should come out pretty decent. I'm slightly depressed that I missed snapping a shot with a jet flying by the moon by a second or two :(
