Hey, it's summer time, a time when artists either starve or blow off huge amounts of work in favor of being actually outside rather than hiding in their art caves!
So post away, if you are doing new work, or just digging up old work to sell to suburban idiots at summer Art Fairs!

Got back from the Anime Central convention a few weekends ago, and found it funny that the first poster I sold out during the weekend was THIS one...

Not Nazis getting kicked in the groin, not steampunk bat-men, but our own Dorkmuffin, asking that age old question.

So, Whitechapel; show us what 'cha got this summer!

I took a couple of hours off savaging lino blocks, and spent it playing with bubbles:

Had an opportunity to pay it forward AND work with one of my artistic idols. Did the coloring on this George Perez cover for FLINT COMIX #50. It was inked by Layne Toth, who is a very talented young comic artist from the Flint area, and a good friend. There's obviously more to the cover than this.

@Ryan S Thomason - Niiiiice. How did you do that? I'm not planning on doing this myself, just interested in the process. It's really cool.

@ Iaviv, thanks! Those are the hard-earned result of an afternoon spent experimenting with kids' bubble mix, washing-up liquid and ink. I got a bit carried away and it turns out I have 25 of them... Today, my folks were visiting so they baby-sat while I went back to the linoface:

@imaginarypeople: do you paint? I think you'd get a huge kick out of pointillism, with your obsessive style and love of patterns. (And the bloke in your piece is sitting inside the train in my painting.)

@Greasemonkey : i used to paint but i found i like illustration better. my last few pieces have been sharpie on canvas. I have been thinking of doing a pointillism piece, maybe one of my next ones. the image from the one i just did was taken from a scene from the twilight zone episode "a stop at willoughby". (the colors outside does look like the train is passing through your painting)

Nice. I'm doing another large pointillist work myself, concurrently with the piece I posted this month; I'm working on developing a new pointillist style using many layers of progressively smaller dots.

@ imaginary- another winner, fantastic zone pics
@mojo- damn that's one handsome pig pilot, also the man on a moon image from the last thread was outstanding
@jackcrowder- something real surreal about your images, I'm glad everyone in this pic can smile like they was on TV while the world explodes all around them. crazy

another desk shot & detail of the 3 x 6 ft ink drawing I'm working on, it's growing...

@ Kosmograd; your color choice really catches my eye and hooks it into the canvas without a twitch. Lovely.
@ Magnulus; I really enjoy the rough overall sense to it. The lines are sketchy. Her mood looks sketchy. The spirit hood even looks like it's in a foul mood.
@ HEY APATHY!; I can never get enough of the close-up shots compared to the full. The detail in your works are a constant concept combustion.
