Jesus, this week might be murder on my wallet.

    Dial H #13
    Hellboy Library Vol. 6
    Solo HC
(and if I'm doing those, I'm behind on, and should grab)
    The Unwritten Vol. 7
    Morning Glories Vol. 4

EDITED TO ADD: As for Ten Grand, I went in with low expectations and was not surprised. Templesmith did a great job, though. I'm pro-Templesmith. The strangest part of that comic was the essay in the back where J. Michael Straczynski talked about the story going the length it required, no more no less, and if it was done, then they wouldn't continue, which sounds great. If there's no more story to tell, the story ends there. Music to my ears, man. I'm glad that storytellers in comics are happy to actually finish projects and not keep them going long after the narrative concluded...and then I remember that Mr. Straczynski was one of the main writers on Before Watchmen.

An aside: The Joe's Comics logo is, of course, a clock, with five minutes to midnight. The Watchmen resonance can't be intentional, right? On the same page that Mr. Straczynski is (I presume) sincerely talking about storytelling free from corporate agendas, there's a telling detail that says something else entirely.

Anyway. That essay is two pages of stupefying and utterly innocent hypocrisy. And hypocrisy isn't the precise enough word, it's not kind enough, but it's the one I've got this late at night and I want to sleep.

    Oh man, Avengers Arena #10...

Some people are going to be *pissed*.

    Nyahaha...

Kick-Ass 3 #1 was pretty good as well, and I think I'm starting to get where Gillen is going with the 'Secret Origin of Tony Stark' storyline in Ironman.

    Oh man, Avengers Arena #10...
Awesome! I didn't get a chance to pick it up yet; now I'm really looking forward to it!

An aside: The Joe's Comics logo is, of course, a clock, with five minutes to midnight. The Watchmen resonance can't be intentional, right?
Not that I have any idea where he got the logo from, but it's been the same clock since mid-2000 and a clock counting down to midnight has been around for a fair bit longer than Watchmen.

(That being said, you could be right... I might have to look into it tonight when I get back from work.)

Watchmen takes it from the 'doomsday clock', which has been around a while, doesn't it?
  7.  (11087.12)
    @Warped/Flabyo

I don't think his intent was to copy Watchmen, but it's so serendipitous as to require writing down somewhere. I think you two are also right, Moore got it from the doomsday clock.

Flabyo -- Avengers Arena was awesome!
    I'm honestly hoping that
they don't write it so that the spell went off and saved her right at the end. Maybe they could have it sot hat the spell went off and saves some of the other kids though... that would be okay.
