Hmm ... I wonder how in-game tutorials will work, when a lot of the 'buttons' are abstract?

Give it a year or two until the controller is on the market and its systems will become standardized. It'll be interesting to see how it develops, but pretty soon trial and error will enable normalcy in usage, and tutorials will make sense again.

The pre-alpha of the freeware game Heavy Bullets ate most of my evening last night. (Article spam goes here) Basically it's a rogue-like FPS, very early but also very playable, and available for Mac/PC/Linux. The big gameplay twist is that bullets are infinitely reusable, you just need to pick them up after using them. Of course, you only start with six, so a bit of care in their usage is required.

For anyone that has 15 minutes to spare:
    SUPERHOT, SUPERHOT

And here's the developer of Super Meat Boy's take on the Stream controller. Sounding good so far.

Alright, and now that I've had the time to process the news...

I'm not too wowed by these announcements. Mainly because, other than the controller, we got told about an OS that's already sorta-kinda out and a machine that we can't see. Both were things that Valve have been talking about anyways, haven't they?

I just feel that it's like a college student smoking weed telling me that he's got some BIG STUFF planned and it's going to be awesome and he'll get so rich off it.

And the controller is...I like the sound of it, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to wait a few years for it to be standard in order for me to enjoy. In terms of near-in-the-future purchases, I'm still going to be getting a wired xbox controller for my computer games.

Night time. Kids, baby, and wife are asleep. Time to turn off the lights, down a triple of Jameson, grab a beer to nurse, and play some more Last of Us. Ugh, fucking clickers.
