Dishonored is up there for a fiver, and KOTOR 2 for £2.50. Man. I finished KOTOR 2 twice, light side and dark side, and I'm still thinking about buying it again.

Bought Organ Trail: Director's Cut because I had to.

On a side note, you folks see the Mad Max trailer?

I also have a question in regards to Steam.

I've been able to hook up my PS3 controller to games on my mac before, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do that with Steam games. Anyone know the answer?

Because if I can, that would make this Steam Sale all the sweeter for me and strain the hell out of my wallet.

Depends on the game, but I've done it with a few. A lot of them tend to be controller compatible.

Yeah, it looks like it DOES work, although with the games and my computer in general I have to bring the quality down to low, which annoys me but I can live with it.

Doing an extra-souble-sure by picking up Portal 2.

Anyone got a thought on Empire versus Napoleon Total Wars? Both are a fiver for the next day, I can't pick between 'em, and I don't want 'em both.

Ah the steam sale, it hits my love of video games and my love of a good deal hard. I put a C-note into Steam and I'm letting the sale go where it does.

    So far:

    The Swapper
    Dust: An Elysian Tale
Sins of the Solar Empire Rebellion
    Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY
    Batman: Arkham City GOTY
    The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings Enhanced Edition
    Bioshock
    System Shock 2
    Super Meatboy
    Just Cause 2
    The Walking Dead

That's for the same price as I'd pay for one new game.

Something fucked up on Steam's end. The community choice ballot said 85% off for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, bringing the price to $3. And it won. And it's price is 50% off, for $9.99. [edit] NM, they fixed it.

    @Oldhat
I use JoytoKey to play almost everything. It shouldn't cause any lag or anything, either. Just look up a button guide and it should work fine.

JoytoKey made Binding of Isaac one of the best games of whatever year it came out in.

Trying to be good today. So far I've just bought Dishonored, but Dust is sitting there tempting me.

@David: Steam's servers are constantly being hammered. I've encountered numerous things that are incorrect due to the server overload (this morning, all of the sale stuff had mysteriously disappeared - I thought that the sale had ended early for a few minutes) only to have them corrected a short time later.

Alrighty...so Portal 2, while it does offer controller support, doesn't offer it for the PS3 controller. Methinks I'll spend the $5 to get a USB connector for my old Xbox controller and that can be my gaming controller for the computer.

As an aside, I picked up Pid, which works perfectly after a rejigger of the control options and it's an addictive and wonderful game.

The Xbox 360 wired controller is always hooked to my PC. I think you'll be pretty happy with it once you've got yours hooked up, a ton of games automatically detect it and configure themselves without needing any work from you at all.

Problem with the controller sites people are linking me to: I have a mac.

...and it looks like my wireless xbox controller cannot be hooked up to my computer? The hell?
  5.  (11106.57)
You need the wireless dongle for a wireless Xbox 360 controller to play with a computer. The Play and Charge USB connector doesn't actually carry any data, just electricity for charging it.

Enjoy seems to be a JoytoKey clone for Mac. Might work!

DJ, that SEEMS to be working wonderfully except for the look up and down bits that is controlled by the mouse. I can't seem to use Enjoy to bind to a mouse action, so...hrm. Weirdly, I can look side to side, but not up and down and no matter how I change the controls for it, it just won't change. Hrm.

I just got done playing the demo for the Kickstarter game Monochroma. It comes in Mac and Linux flavors too, and it's fantastic-
