Yeah, didn't the boxing crossed speak or laugh in crossed font?

Yes, there was an initial mistake and the box wasn't attributed to him but they went back and added the line to specify that it was him laughing with the Crossed font.

I don't think the babytillery is the Nun and Shaky's offspring. That nice and jolly lady bringing it to the bedapult bears post-delivery fluids on her thighs...

Anyway, the last episodes are building up an unbearable amount of tension regarding the whole Nun and her followers thing. And I'm really looking forward to what really happened in the castle. How Shaky's mental image on the crossed child, the stabbed to death cocky soldier, the rope and the charred finger attached to the grenade pin and what they all have in common stands up to Seline's story...

WYWH is really an amazing narrative.

Good catch, I noticed this too.

My guess is one of the soldiers is acting like the good Pavlov's dog he was conditioned to is supposed to and shoots the incoming by reflex. Thus resulting in a Men Behind the Sun-style shattering Bio-Weapon with the biggest radius possibly spreading crossed fluids.

And the inner yard of the castle becomes a slaughterhouse extravaganza...

And who is that hooded crossed dude close to the bedapult? Wasn't he with the Boxer and the Nun on the little boat? I remember some hooded crossed there... Continuity and putting these little hints to past und future revelations is awesome with WYWH.

@Feifei the Crossed plan is actually even better than that - You can see the Crossed with shotguns standing ready right in front of the babypult, they will be splattering the little disease bomb shortly. I think the hooded Crossed on the boat with the Nun is the Gamekeeper(basically because he is old, bald, and his appearance is disguised by the hood and the HUGE beard). Can't tell if that hoodie wearing dude in next to the bedsheet is him or not.

Still convinced that the bandaged up Crossed is the Aussie's brother. Got introduced in the same chapter, as I recall. And if you don't find the body, there's always a chance they'll come back.

@Malkydel: It can't be the Aussie's brother as I remember he was missing a leg on the hospital bed.

@Blighty, good idea about the crossed baby salute firing squad, we will find out in the next hours (if thereĀ“s not another inter...) :o)

I still can't believe that the trained and disciplined soldiers of Fort George would just stand there, while the crossed are within range and preparing their infected babypult, and do absolutely nothing but act like squirrels caught in headlights. The gaping mouths was a nice touch, too, as if they hadn't learned by now about the infection's communicability via contact with crossed bodily fluids. So everyone in the fort who's still civilized, including women and children, is sacrificed just like that on account of the parapet soldiers' inaction. It moves the story along, sure, but does a poor job of suspending my disbelief.

What I'd like to see explained is the gap between the time Seline entered the fort and the moment when the shooting and explosions at the fort woke up Shaky's party. Shaky's group had tried twice to lure the crossed away so that Seline could leave the fort as planned, yet nothing happened. No soldiers were spotted atop the walls in those panels where Viceroy and the newcomers were seen luring the crossed away, but neither were there any reports of desperate gunfire from within the fortress's walls, leading me to suspect that the infected newborn incident happened sometime after the second attempt to summon Seline.

    Patience, unbeliever.

Also, RE: the whining about the soldiers being momentarily dumbstruck by a sneering newborn flying through the air towards them? Of course they fucking would be.

Crossed isn't a Hollywood film. People aren't unflappable. Soldiers aren't cold-bloody war machines. And whether you'd lived through awfulness or not, if someone throws a fucking baby at you you're unlikely to raise your rifle and successfully shoot it in the half a second you've got before it reaches you.

Stop trying to impress people by finding fucking stupid holes in the story and try to enjoy it, yeah?

I love the idea of the baby as clusterbomb. Also, it introduces us to crossed arming up. And while I can't see them using guns out of logistical expediency, I can see them using guns for something nice and lulzy. Like a Babybomb. Where's this weeks episode then? Pull yer finger out Si!

Yeah, everybody stop the nagging and just enjoy the ride. What an awesome chapter 3-11 is. No words needed, we all know the discussion regarding the status of the wife and her quarantine from our knowledge of the overal Crossed cosmos and similar situations in previous installments.

And the way the Mummy worked this whole thing, wow. Turns out Shaky's posse and the soldiers were played by the Nun and her cult in the first place.

The last frame with the left behind whatshername, I'm really anxious on what's happening next.

Thanks Si, really awesome story telling here! This believer truly enjoys WYWH!

I was arguing more along the lines that the soldiers should have noticed the crossed preparing the bedsheets, should have realized that they were planning something diabolical, and should have given those specific crossed a few bursts from their M16s and L85s.

This week's episode adequately explains the question I raised in my previous post's second paragraph, and I like how the story was told with no dialogue or captions. I'm enjoying the series despite my disagreement with some of its elements, and the only other Crossed author whose writing I like more than yours is Garth Ennis.

    AWESOME RESPONSE!!!!

But hey, by all means, keep running your wholly critical jib about every-fucking-thing, maybe you'll convince Si to stop giving a shit about giving us a free webcomic. Christ, this week answers everything nearly to the letter from a weeping post made a little more than a half-hour ago. (Maybe he drew and wrote it in that amount of time, though...just to please the critics, and continue the story upon the direction of reader complaints. He couldn't possibly know what he's doing without that nonsense...)

I love WYWH - and don't have to pick it apart, complain about what may or may not be a plot hole, ESPECIALLY before the fucking thing is finished. jesus christ...just say "thanks, Si" or stop reading it if isn't meeting your respective standards.

**Si - you're brillaint and the story has been beyond great since page fucking-one! Love it!! Please keep churning them out - I'm fairly certain more readers DO enjoy it than do not; and don't have "Where's Waldo" on what they perceive as mistakes or plot holes. (And I CANNOT WAIT for Disenchated!!!!)

(And for the record, SS is also correct about IF there was a a flying, infected baby hurtling overhead....even if you WERE holding a gun I doubt 99% of all people would have the mental wherewithal to think first, all the horrible shit that would come to mind while witnessing that horror, then still have enough time to raise the weapon & pop it off in the quasi-moment it'd take to get there, then burst. There'd just be an hour-filled period later of a ton of "woulda, shoulda, coulda" macho horseshit.)

The first time we see plussies acting as a cohesive unit, they manage to break The Black Watch's siege? In their own base? That's some jump there. The dialogue wasn't giving much away this week, but #3:11 has opened up a bigger can of worms than the last 6 episodes put together! If (as I now suspect) Binbag is the Gamekeeper, maybe he is doing some act of absolution Teresa has guilted him into, for being such a bawbag and raeping her. Covered up to keep himself uninfected, he might turn out to be the most unlikely Saviour imaginable. Loved the tactical babby bomb though, it gave me unexpected warm fuzzies. Does this make me a bad person? Nope. It makes me a worse person. Keep 'em coming like this, and I might turn crossed myself!

Oh yeah, Si please write a CROSSED-WHERE'S-WALDO to be drawn in one of the next mass scenes of Crossed.

Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Like Zombie-Jay-Leno in the Dawn of the Dead remake...

Nice to see the Crossed think that children are the future, and that such sacrifices are neccessary for continuation of their glorious rampage. Also, if Binbag IS the GK, it'ss not been the first time that there's been crossed / normal co-operation. Is this heralding a new spirit of "living together" for both Crossed, and Uncrossed as a reintegrated, post Cross Humanity? The plot thickens . . . .
