BBC iplayer has a delicious little minisode up ahead of Day of the Doctor. There are many things I would like to say about it. But I won't.

The Night of the Doctor was awesome.
Loved seeing the eighth doctor again. He was always one of my favorites and it was good to see him get more screen time.

There's 'science of Doctor Who' thing on BBC2 tonight with everyones favourite professor of physics, Brian Cox.

Basically, the 50th anniversary stuff starts today and runs for the rest of the month.

(I'm really looking forward to the Mark Gatiss penned docudrama about the creation of the show in the 60's, it's apparently *really* good)

I'm about halfway through season one of American Horror Story, and I guess I'm kinda hooked. I look forward to the later stuff.

I'm not worried. I'm not expecting over-the-top sexual hijinks, nor am I expecting them to nail the black comedy (which would be impossible unless Garth himself were writing the scripts.)

No, the pilot will live or die by two criteria. One, casting. I'm not worried about that. As long as they don't get John Travolta for Jesse.

Two, the action. The action, the action, the action. The Saint's guns need to fly fly fly. Cassidy needs to crash headfirst through every closed door and shut window. Then run over by a truck.

They do that, it will work.

I am pretty excited if they actually get it filmed. This was one of my favorite comics growing up and even if they ruin it, it will still be cool to see.
I think Joseph Gilgun would be perfect for Cassisy, and Misfits is just ending so...

Long as they get the blasphemy right, I can forgive pretty much anything else. HUMPADIDO!!

    Current viewing is
Sons of Anarchy Not to everyone's taste, and piles on the drama a bit too much at times, but I'm pretty committed to seeing the story out now.
Boardwalk Empire Well acted. Good characterisation. Interesting time of history
and, starting last night, Breaking Bad.

Finally on board for 'Person Of Interest' having managed to catch up with the first and second seasons. I think you could refer to the show itself as 'The Machine' it runs so slick, smooth and well-crafted. Avoiding the term until the Season 2 finale then Shaw just drops, "You mean an A.I.?" *Boom*

What is especially admirable about Person of Interest is that it successfully juggles three plotlines: The corrupt cop organization arc, the Root / nature of the Machine arc, and the weekly "whose number is up" plot.

Last week was basically all about curb-stomping the corrupt cop organization, and a righteous smackdown it was.

Now that I'm watching it I am FURIOUS that Terriers only lasted one season. It is available on Netflix.

For certain the interweaving of the plots amazes me, a lovely balance of revelation while introducing new mysteries. The Reese's Origin/Orgus Laptop arc was played out brilliantly over Seasons 1 and 2. I doubt we've heard the last of Decima and this new 'Privacy Terrorist' group either (though I'm a Brit on catch up so I'm not sure how caught up to Season 3 I want to get, as we have to wait for Channel 5 to get it's finger out for 'legitimate' viewing. Hence my knowledge might be a bit out of date), so is that 5 or would you include both in the Nature of the Machine plot?

No, I'd forgotten about the privacy terrorists!

Well, there is all that other stuff going on. I'm embarrassed by how many episodes it took me to spot there's a snippet of the ep. in the titles! Attention is definitely rewarded which is another reason I love the show.

Almost Human had an interesting first couple episodes, I'll definitely be keeping up with it. Though, I am a little skeptical of some of their laws & politics.

Dan Harmon's new Adult Swim show, Rick and Morty starts in two weeks.

I'm sticking with The Mentalist until it finally wraps up the Red John thing...I hope. For a show that walks the line between lighthearted comedy and serial murder laced with guilt and shame, I think it does pretty well. Some folks just can't stand Simon Baker, but his particular interpretation of the neurotic con-artist detective archetype to me is one of the best.

Re. The Mentalist I just can't get past the name. In the UK a mentalist is a like saying someone is a nutter, or not quite all there. Rubbish reason for dismissing a series I know.

The Mentalist is okay and I catch a few eps here and there on TNT, but in terms of detectives who are fake psychics, I prefer Psych.

Not saying what outside the spoiler box, but damn - Person Of Interest just did... something.

    Fucking hell, Carter!!

I usually wait for the weekend to watch Person of Interest, but if something crucial happened I'll have to watch before it gets spoilered.
