My venomous darlings, it's my extreme pleasure to announce that DISENCHANTED IS NOW LIVE.

As you'll see, this isn't just a comicbook. The first episode of the ongoing ensemble is indeed there, but you're encouraged to explore the site further.

Check out the wiki, with the first couple of articles. We'll be adding to that regularly.

And check out the maps. Above all, the maps. Which alone took a year to create. They will blow your mind.

    BEGIN. ENJOY.

    It liiives! It liiiiives!

Nice start, too - no holding back on setting a few plates spinning.

I like. Nice work on the extreme perspectives, and conveying just how huge everything is, while setting up just enough of the story and setting and problems to leave me wanting more.

Dammit, now I have one more webcomic to read.

Great opener! No surprise in that though - I was pretty certain 'Disenchanted' would be spectacular...and it very much is. Already can't wait for the next issue!

Wow, the maps. The maps are awesome. As are the Bad Fairies.

I'm sad enough to have just tried to discover if Wardour Street was actually a half-built tube station (not referenced in Wikipedia Central Line entry) and even sadder to contemplate whether the city will be screwed by Crossrail?!

I really like the colouring, so vibrant but grubby at the same time. The maps are great also, fantastic detail. Happy to have a new weekly to look forward to.

Si/Oldhat/Taphead: Is it worth updating this thread so that it shows up on the front page without the viewer having to be signed in? At the mo, if you click through from the 'discuss' link at disenchanted.com, you can't see anything related to Disenchanted on the sticky list. Might not be best for newcomers ...

Interesting - thanks for the heads-up.

[UPDATE - that should be fixed now.]

So we get Disenchanted on Monday and Crossed on Thursday? I'll not be satisfied until I can read a new episode of an excellent webcomic every day Monday thru Friday. You've got three other days of the week to fill, Mr. Spurrier. You can take weekends off.

Ha. I won't speak for Si, but that would kill me.

There will be at least two for the next few years, though.

Finaly it´s on ! Thank you Si, great job on the maps too but I can't wait to have it in my hands, printed on paper... I was positively surprised to see the Disenchanted´site was the first (between Freakies & WYWH) to be optimized for mobile phones but on my ol'3GS the maps are soooooo little, I hope you'll think about adding them into future TPB's...
Besides, each Monday I'll practise my english tryin' to understand some typical expressions we do not learn at school here in France.
Merci et à lundi prochain !!!

Getting ready for launch, it was startling to think back on the 2007-era FreakAngels world where optimizing for mobile was barely a consideration. Ipad was years off yet, iphone gen 1 would have been launched just as FA was in development.

Dis mobile is solid but I think it's likely to evolve over the next few weeks. I would love to get swiping in there to navigate through the comic pages.
