It's Thursday! It's mid-afternoon in London! It's another wrongheaded morning in Mericky! It's who-the-fuck-knows-when in Australia! It's time for more Crossed Hideosity!

    Episode 68, live and free-to-air.

Remember: Not safe for work, not safe for minors, not safe for people of a nervous disposition, not safe for the seething cockpustule at Lewisham Council who just wasted my entire day with his useless shower-of-arse bilgetalk.

No sign of Dora, no sign of Tab. I'm not giving up hope that maybe they got out when the going got weird. At least, that's what I'll tell myself in the long cold night.

wonder what's in the bag they tossed down to the nun?

If Shaky kills Jackson, I will be very very upset.

God. Damn. I thought Jackson would be smarter than to turn his back on Shaky when the lucky cunt has a loaded gun. I really don't think Tabitha is dead yet. I think it's going to come down to Shaky having to choose between Tabitha, his baby-mama, and Aoileann, the chick who he's truly and deeply in love. I don't know though, I'm just along for all the amazing plot twists and turns right now. Keep up the great work everybody, you make Thursday more than Wednesday's Friday, you make it C-Day every week.

One more page in today's issue and I thought for sure we'd see Jackson take a round in the back...I'm surprised as well he let Shaky behind him with a loaded weapon. That, coupled with Shaky's current decline in sanity (according to his recent diary pages) and it's got bad news written all over it.

    GREAT week, Si!!

Dang guys, no trusting in Shakey I see, Clever buggers you lot.
Anyway, I'm more worried about Shakey shooting the nun, she's the only thing holding that horde off. With them gone, lord knows what the plussies'll do.

Besides Tabitha, I wonder how Captain Dora fared. Did she escape? Or is she holed up on 1 of the ships?

So to sort this out: she,Jackson and a small group were waiting for the morning when they would take the fuel they needed from Flotta and leave it in flames. What happened instead was the Nun's group attacked the fleet at night . That is the worst possible scenario. Not only is the fleet gone
(never did refuel), but the Nun's army will likely grow from the attack and with all (?) the ships destroyed any exit strategy from the island is off the table. Further, with the fleet now gone, the nun and co can direct their full attention to Shaky and the other islanders.

Is it me, or is Tabitha there in that panel where Shaky says how he "didn't see her, suppose I'm pleased about that"? Next to Jackson's face, that's definitely her trenchcoat and hairstyle, and I doubt it's a coincidence. On the plus side, she isn't being raped-killed, she only has a crossed in front of her holding a big knife aimed at her face. I suppose Dora might have saved her in time, though, a baby being "treasure" for the driftfleet, so when you are being attacked you try saving only the most important things and running the fuck out of there.

Shaky might kill Jackson here, but I doubt he will. With the crazy bunch of them crossed around and Shaky being a coward, I doubt he'd kill the best fighter his side has. But since they're apparently going to meet Teresa, I wouldn't be surprised if her soldiers do the job. Also, I know Jackson is crazy and all, but hello? Do you reember How Seline said the nun is not the leader but the one holding the crazy bastards down? If that is so, and I'm sure seline would know better than anyother cavaite, killing the nun = opening pandora's box of doom

I took the combined attack image as being in the islander's imagination - so I'm not taking any of that as gospel. Same way that Shaky's idea of what happened at the fort was completely wrong. I did notice a couple of ships that weren't on fire - perhaps some of the fleet did escape. As to Shaky shooting Jackson - Jackson would still shove his rifle up Shaky's butt even if he was mortally wounded :)

I don't see why he'd take down Jackson. That's probably why Jackson isn't concerned about him being behind him. Shakey's not crazy. He's just spun a web only to have some kid walk along and tear it all down with nary a thought. His mind's rattled probably because he doesn't know what to do.

That was certainly Tabitha on-panel, but she wasn't dead or Crossed, so it's still possible she survived. Shaky is in denial about not seeing her, as he had to repeat "didn't see her" to himself several times. I think maybe Tabitha's fetus is in the nun's black bag, though. Either that or Captain Dora's head. I knew the Driftfleet was not long for this world, especially with their plan to take the fight to the plussies, but I'm still sad to see it go. It opened up so many story possibilities - getting off of Cava, life amongst another group of survivors, etc. I suspect Jackson will be the next to turn Crossed and become the nun's new number one. I think Jackson is one of the Crossed taking Cava in the front-page art.

My thoughts about the bag too, Big Texan.

The only thing Crossed carry in bags are heads or fetuses.

If shaky kills Jackson, I will also be very very upset. Shaky knows as well as us that he saw Tabitha. She was clearly standing with her back to us on the splash page. She may be dead, crossed or captured but she was in the thick of it most certainly. This is the true definition of survival horror. I can't wait to get my hands on the volume 3 hardcover.

I'd like to believe that even though there's no technical reason it couldn't happen, Jackson neither gets Crossed nor killed. It just seems axiomatic that somehow his sheer craziness (and I'm sure the special forces military training helps) will end up keeping him alive and uninfected until he dies of extreme old age.

Well, if anyone's equipped (mentally and otherwise) to survive in the world of the Crossed, it's Jackson. For a guy who once fucked a hedgehog thinking it was Pamela Anderson, the post-C-Day events aren't that bizarre. ;) He'd probably consider the Walking Dead-verse (TV and comics) as a nice, quite vacation spot...

As for this week's chapter, well, I'll just quote Rab, here: "Ships sink, islands don't."

As for the bag, I think it's someone's head. Whose? That's the $64,000 question.

Tabitha has been pregnant for about 2 or 3 months. That means that unless she screamed "I'm pregnant!!!" the crossed would have no reason to eviscerate her in search of a fetus to put in that bag. So my bet on the bag's content:

-A head, especifically Dora or Tabitha's, as they are the ones that would have the most impact on Shaky and whatever is in this bag was brought especifically to Teresa, and we all know who does the nun care for
-Some personal effects from Tabitha. After all, the nun kept Seline alive and safe (other than the sanity loss, but not much that she could do about that) and that was in a situation where her fellow crossed didn't have some hundred other people to rape-kill, and she probably knows that Tabitha is also Shaky's friend. In this scenario, hopefully she doesn't know that she's also his lover, because that would be very bad.

I suppose Teresa is now heading to Clay Loan for the lovely date?

    >I suppose Teresa is now heading to Clay Loan for the lovely date?

Clay Loan is on another island.

    >what's in the bag they tossed down to the nun?

The prominently displayed skull of a child on the bow of the boat suggested a possibility to me.

    >I wonder how Captain Dora fared

For what it's worth, one of the men killed was, I think, the faux captain from Cavaites' first visit.

If he performed a function in the fleet, it might indicate Dora's fate, too.

yeah my vote is that's Tab's head in the bag.
    love yah Si.
