@oldhat - I'm the same weight, only a whole foot shorter. I'll have to try those apps when I stop hibernating during the winter so much...
@Magnus - I can down water when I'm really thirsty, but sadly, I don't move around enough to feel thirst, and never feel thirsty, which is why it's such a struggle.

@diello, fitbit is actually pretty great for keeping track of your activities. I have a Fitbit zip and it's just freakin' perfect.

Hehe today has just been mad with messages from the universe that I Ought To Lose Weight, Oh Fatty Me. Finally made it to the doctor with an issue that doesn't really have much to do with it. We never once talked about my weight, I figured it just a formality like my temperature and blood pressure.

But on the way out the nurse handed me a sheet with the BMI pointing out I'm overweight and laundry list of tips for how to lose weight, what to eat or not eat and drink... It was kind of dispiriting since the very next place I was headed to after the appointment was straight to the gym.

Look, I know what it takes to lose weight. I've done it before. It'll be tough to do it again because of metabolic changes and my life is not in the same place as it was before (and ephedra is illegal now), but I'm not stupid. I know I need to eat more vegetables and far less meat. But all those damned "tips" everything... and no where to go and just bitch about it so I can be okay again without getting a ton more unsolicited advice... Oy vey. I blew up a tiny little bit at dinner and made it sound like I didn't care about dieting.

Not true. I'm still determined about this plan. I just had a day that hit all my sore spots and triggered my stubborn, fuck-you streak.

So. I needed to vent. I hope that's fine with you lot. I'm good with these threads being where people can offer tips and ask questions and vent on the obstacles. We all need to work our shit out so we can keep moving forward. As long as we're honest about really moving forward, I'm more than happy to support a place for that.

    Googling fitbit now... }:>

Yeah...I know what those days can be like. I've cancelled plans because of days like that.

I think I'm going to start another Fitness thread. Remember that. Yes.

    And then she did.
