@Fixzr: I am aware James Bond's parents were Scottish and Swiss. He was however born in England, according to the 'official biography'.

Hmm, I was under the impression he was born in Zurich, but never mind. It's all a bit like splitting hairs. My point really was that Bond's not a good example since whatever nationality he is he's had at least two different accents in movies and I don't think anyone's ever been terribly upset about it.

Generally though, I agree with your original point.

Well I'm glad to know all Americans seem to know where France is, even when they don't know where England is.

(but don't ask me to place all the American states on a map)

    Mariachi Beluga

(Sure it's old, but I figure there's always time for Mariachi Beluga)

The Internet with a Human Face, by Maciej Ceglowski.

    If nothing else, for this:

"I've come to believe that a lot of what's wrong with the Internet has to do with memory. The Internet somehow contrives to remember too much and too little at the same time, and it maps poorly on our concepts of how memory should work."

@Wood & @David - thank shit for that. I was briefly worried about ever going to Russia.

Not that I shouldn't be worried when they give this to their kids:

    That's right. This.
