    @lampcommander: Yes. Getting to boss really hot guys around to do random crap all day sounds like an extremely good time. It's objectification of course, but damn, what a way to objectify. (So very awesome.)

    @lampcommander:

    A Finnish linguist here and yes, that's more or less accurate :) Also, because I'm a dick, I use the forms from the green branch - because I can ;)

    Let me recite you the proverbs of my people!

    @Vornaskotti: Because you are such a lovely fellow, I am sure, and I am a lowly yet curious English speaking person: what the fresh hell does all that mean?
  6.  (11237.648)
    Those are direct translations of proverbs and idioms that… well, let's say something just gets lost in the translation in most of the cases. With the others you suddenly realize how little they make any sense :D

    Regardless, I'm going to try and get "Stupid like a boot" into my day-to-day usage.
    In a similar vein, a Polish friend of mine tells me that the Polish equivalent to "Counting your chickens before they're hatched" is "Dividing the skin on a live bear". I know which of those I'm using from now in.

    A German exchange student we hosted shared several, including "the sun shines through [her/his] eyes"--meaning that s/he has an empty head.

    @Vornaskotti So much verbing of the practical makes my Finnish blood sing, quietly, to itself, nude, alone, drunk in the snow.
