    Horrible news.

    Had no idea he was doing smack, or in rehab.

    It's really a human story. He'd been clean for twenty years. It seems he hadn't been exposed to those vices until he began doing Broadway. Theater culture isn't Prius clean. That's how he ended up back on heroin.

    Man completes 275 day, 5,000-mile (8,000km) cross-Canada charity run dressed as comic book superhero The Flash
    He has battled temperatures of -40C (-40F), worn through 10 pairs of trainers, slept rough and was beaten & robbed of his bag, which was later found with nothing missing.

    Oh thank christ the bag was found. I thought that was really sad when it went missing.

    @Doc Ocassi

    That Trevor Paglen video is fascinating. Surprisingly inspiring, too, given the subject matter - it's nice to see how much information is available if you do the right research. Thanks!

    np curb.

    I see the media as being eviscerated of much of their ability to do journalism, essentially by capital, and now it is up to artists and comedians to bring us our information and analysis.

    There was also a great talk done by David Simon at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas. He touches on the effect of capital on the media as an example of a larger and more dangerous trend.

    Here's the entire "debate" between Bill Nye (The Science Guy) & Ken Ham (Founder of the Creation Museum)

    ...I can only assume, considering the level of critical thinking that went into the arson, that the "accident" was him looking down the barrel to see if it was loaded.

    Here's a certain level of something to aspire to:

    Badass of the Week: Julie D'Aubigny

    Julie D'Aubigny was a 17th-century bisexual French opera singer and fencing master who killed or wounded at least ten men in life-or-death duels, performed nightly shows on the biggest and most highly-respected opera stage in the world, and once took the Holy Orders just so that she could sneak into a convent and bang a nun. If nothing in that sentence at least marginally interests you, I have no idea why you're visiting this website.

    It gets better, too.

    Hah, amazing. She sounds like a character from the excellent 2000AD series, Nikolai Dante.
