    Hey Whitechapel! I've been off in my own corner of the world tapping away for far too long, but I'm poking my head up and wandering back to the old haunt because I want to share the good news. As of tonight, I have finished the first draft of the outline of my novel. 59600 words. I didn't set out do so, but it appears I'm writing a monster of an epic. But on the upside I kill billions of people. It's a love story.

    I figure you all will appreciate this far more than the meatbags I actually see on some sort of regular basis (i.e. I haven't seen them either since around when I last frequented this place/went all in on the novel). Stay sexy y'all!

    Awesome fucking sauce @sellmeyoursoul. It's took me a year and a bit to wrestle down a first draft - it was the hardest part! Congratulations mate.

    @soulboy: Go on, fella!

    Motherfuckers, It's eighteen months today since I was chemically exorcised by a representative from The Vatican to become a new model citizen. Give me yet another keyring, oh foul addict minions-in-recovery, lest I turn into bull-god and lay waste to this tortured isle. So say we all!!

    *pops champagne*

    Eighteen months, that's amazing. Also FYI, I'm going to start writing fiction again one day and when I do I'm going to have a character named Flecky and just rip your quotes straight from this website. ... Maybe you'll get some royalties.

    Me, I put my apartment up for rent. It feels great.

    Hooray to you all! Joy to Flecky!

    Me, I ended up having a panic attack this weekend and just missed seeing WFMU storyteller and Kentucky-resident Hearty White in his first visit to NYC/NJ. I nearly cried, but went out on the town for a few drinks to have some fun. It had been months since I've last drank, and seems that my body just doesn't like alcohol anymore, because having only three drinks, I didn't even get drunk, but woke at 8am to vomit for a few hours (I've not puked for probably 10 years) and was too ill to attend the WFMU party on Sunday. (no more drinking for me)

    I was really bummed out.

    But then, to cheer me up, Hearty White made me my very own recording! How awesome is that?! What a lovely man!

    (Hearty White can be listened to here:

    La la la la la la la! :D

    Five years ago today my little brother died. I've done a damn good fucking job of being distracted by work and tiredness today, so I'm not thinking too much about the phone call I got in the morning, the cab ride to the hospital, and seeing the empty, glassy, already discoloured eyes of my brother, who was barely 20 minutes dead. St. Patrick's Day was the day of his funeral, so one more reason to hate that freakin' day.

    I got called back on to television to talk about beer and cider. Was a last minute thing and had me running around yesterday. This was probably the best appearance I've had on there. I timed my segment perfectly, talked up a lot of beers that are big or are going to be big, and introduced a new crowd to the big cider boom that my province will be hitting soon. Not to mention it was one of the few times I've looked fucking fantastic on TV instead of all ogre-like. A sign that I'M noticing the weight loss.

    Flecky, Happy 18 months, mate. Keep kicking ass!

    @flecky: Whe-hey, keep on keeping on! Awesome news.

    @oldhat: Condolences for that unpleasant anniversary. Glad to hear you managed to keep yourself distracted through it. Also, always a genuine thrill to see how your beer expert gig thing has taken off!
