Being a devotee of the indie games scene, I am going to stoutly defend Threes as a better choice than 2048. There's a whole ongoing discussion around Threes and 2048 vis-à-vis cloning, if you are interested in such things.

Just started playing Infamous: Second Son. Beautiful and fun game.

    But, man. Those street musicians.

Fract OSC is really good you guys

Music-based puzzle/exploration game. Very neon/synth, and it kinda teaches you the basics of making synth music while you are at it.

I just be Fract OSC last night. I really wish I'd liked it more than I did, but something just didn't click with me. I'm glad I played it, because it's absolutely gorgeous, but I can't say it's a favorite.

I've been in an arcade-y mood lately. Nuclear Throne keeps pulling me back in for another round, Tower of Guns is in regular rotation to the point where my girlfriend considers it the game I play when I want to procrastinate, and I'm enjoying the twin-stick shooter We Are Doomed quite a bit.

I've also played a bit of Nom Nom Galaxy, which is pleasantly insane in a Terraria way, and am just about finally done digging out from under the press of PAX East articles I wanted to write.

How is it that there's no Meteos or Meteos clone on Android? I am flabbergasted.

    @D.J.: Hmmmmmmm....... idea

Finally dug out from under the post-PAX article pile and am playing catch-up with a few other things, including Nom Nom Galaxy, Neon XSZ, and a few short but fun news articles. It was kind of fun to be more productive than normal in regards to writing but I was getting really tired of the sound of my own voice by the time I was done.

Nom Nom Galaxy gets a big thumbs-up from me, by the way. It's takes the basic format of Terraria in new places, and there's something really satisfying about building an automated factory as the end result of construction. Rockets go here, patrolling robots there to cart resources around, add a ton of soup machines and start harvesting the resources, build some defenses to keep the rivals away, and then a garden for a steady supply of items. It's got a long way to go to be done, but the underlying structure is really good.

@James Cunningham: Nom Nom Galaxy sounds... intriguing.

Also, it apparently has a very silly trailer:

It's money just waiting to be made, man.

I don't doubt it. Especially the way that Match 3 games with a decent hook tend to take off on mobile. I need to set aside some time to learn Unity.

Make sure to check out the user created levels. They don't have a good way of sorting them yet, but a lot of them are really neat.

<3 Broforce. A developer needs to be really smart to make something so wonderfully dumb.

I've heard good things about Endless Legend, though I have yet to play it myself. It's from the same developers (and same fictional universe) as Endless Space and Dungeon of the Endless, both of which are quite good.

Thanks to the Steam sale this weekend, I was finally able to pick up Shadowrun Returns (66% off) and Dragonfall (33%). Firing it up now and ready to dive in. I always loved this setting, from the horribly complex RPG of the 90's to my favorite Sega Genesis game. Just a great world and flavor. Lets do this.

Trying to be good. Trying not to spend money. Factorio demo isn't helping!

That looks a whole lot of fun, and a whole lotta frustration - in the best possible way!

This weekend shall mostly consist of playing Peggle 2. IMHO, Popcap have made a few irritating moves of late, but that game is still so charming.
