I'm a fan of the Keanu Reeves Constantine, and I'm disappointed that we never got more films in that series, but the show hewing closer to the books is totally alright with me.

Man, this makes me excited. I don't want to be, but I can't help it. I'd set my DVR now if I could.

Oh bollocks...Keanu my arse. At least this one looks and sounds like Uncle Johnny. Don't get me wrong, as a stand-alone film it's not bad, but it's not Hellblazer. This looks fucking awesome.

    New Clip: http://io9.com/hellholes-and-bad-business-cards-abound-in-first-consta-1575035170

Sorry, can't seem to hotlink today.

Probably seen this already but this got me more interested than the trailer's fire and demons etc. Actor seems to have John's personality down.

Ryan's a bit wooden in the clip, but the vibe is very good indeed.

Holy Fucking Shit, Person Of Interest. Just... Holy Fucking Shit.

I didn't think they'd go the full surveillance dystopia, and if so not this fast. And the use of Radiohead's 'Exit Music (For A Film)' was perfect.

I'm wondering if Person of Interest wasn't sure if they'd be renewed and . . .

. . . ended on a "things are grim but slim hope remains" note.

Right now the show is paralleling reality; would a next season be more blatantly dystopic / SFish, with the public thrilled and/or horrified at the number of "terrorists" getting picked off the street? The five "blanks" are going to need allies . . . but who? My thought was that the Machine could start contacting people that John & Finch had helped, and give them directives that would aid the team. e.g., leave the keys to your vacation cabin under such and such a rock (to provide a safehouse); bring a first aid kit and 2 units of blood to such-and-such hotel.

@StefanJ; No, they were renewed months ago. And they're apparently on track for their planned 6 season storyline... so this was entirely part of the initial plan.

I think your suggestion is a likely direction for the show, one I've been hoping for in one form or another for a while. Having those saved become part of the network of good guys was always a major aspect of The Shadow, which the show draws from on even more than Batman.
Though it may be that on the surface, the US won't be too different - at least, to those citizens not labelled Deviant (and wasn't it telling that was the term used?). A few more police raids, Northern Lights 2 justified and the furore forgotten...

I'm glad they have a planned arc. I think I appreciate that more than shows that drag on forever. Hannibal has a full story planned to come to think of it.

Seriously though. Was not expecting to escalate so quickly and they maintained their grey morality too. In some ways I was worried that The Machine was going to go bad. I'm glad it didn't happen. Will look forward to seeing how the Team deal with a
    super surveillance situation
, also learning things at the same time. That's what I love about semi-procedural shows like this. I always liked how they almost never use unrealistic Graphic Interface like some shows I could mention.

Anyone watching In The Flesh? Is it worth getting the first series?

Of course, the machines may have their own agenda.

I hope the series ends with the machines finding out they're in love with each other, and having a crazy robot wedding.

Yes. Yes. YES. Series 1 blew me away, do it.

    @Steve:

Yeah, I watched Series 1 last year. It seemed OK. I don't watch BBC3 stuff now, but I may check out the new series.

I've still got the latest Person of Interest to watch, and I'm into Season 2 of Continuum.

Grimm is really amping things up as its season ends.

Fargo. Holy crap. Fargo. The end of every episode has me silently mouth Oh, damn!

Penny Dreadful turns out to be pretty interesting. Lot of great actors (Dalton and Green especially) and the combine-Victorian-creature-tales plotline doesn't actually resemble League of Extraordinary Gentlemen at all.

I don't know how I feel about Penny Dreadful yet. I think I went in looking for it to be fun and rompy, and it really hasn't offered any of that past the first fifteen minutes.

Re: Penny Dreadful - does Tim Dalton ham it up and chew the scenery like he did in Doctor Who and Hot Fuzz? Because I am totally up for that.

@curb. Completely and utterly. So does Eva Green.
