I'm surprised Stote can stomach doing that with such an ugly folk, although I guess there's no accounting for taste amongst non-humans. I'm guessing the boggart will make use of some of her glamour, now that she's put in a rough spot.

I suspect Stote's attraction is partly based on his belief that she sees him for the terrible person he really is. That, and the transgressive thrill of breaking a major taboo.

Out of interest, Si, can the glamoured races interbreed?

I like how there's no stopping the downward spiral: you think things couldn't get any worse between the surviving family members after Grandma's departure, and each week you find them going to worse and worse places.

Now, I think the son got the wrong meaning when Stote kicked him out of the house. If I recall, it was more about having joined a gang than hanging out with another race of the glamoured. Doesn't mean Stote isn't a hypocrite, as he's the first one kicking random strangers' asses for money (and for fun), just not for the reasons why he's being raged at right now.

Not sure if the kid seriously thinks that he can beat his father in a fight, or he's simply too angry and not thinking any straight, but this can not end well

Gragh, I suspect the hypocrisy is in that he taught them never to trust any of the nonfey, especially not the the Boggarts (I recall a certain beggar who he claimed would stab them and rob them of their change while one was taking money out of their pocket.) In addition to that, he's the wayfinder, a community leader, and the fey, as we learned from their article, are known for being deeply prejudiced against the other folk races.

Yet, here he is, having relations with a boggart. Even a gangfey like the kid would be biased against boggarts, and you can't really blame him, consider she's using fear magic right before he comes in.

The kid definitely can't take Stote, though, Stote's a badass (remember the fight with the snipers and the two brownies? Quick like a ripper, they say.) I'm starting to worry for that poor boggart, though.

The two of them go at it until the other son breaks it up. Then the boggart destroys his mind by telling him how his grandmother died. Then all three give the new elder his just deserts. Or does the mother make her return and see the damage she caused?
