My entire house just started vibrating! (it was about 1am here)

I nearly had a panic attack....

We aren't used to this sort of thing in the UK. My first thought was it was the RAF about to crash a helicopter into my roof.

Anyone else in the UK notice this earthquake or whatever the hell it was?

I assumed the guy upstairs was getting laid but I actually felt similar shakes (Newcastle).

An Earthquake in a place that's (to my knowledge) no where near a tetonic plate?

    ...

    Batman: No Man's Land

    It's coming true. :O

Sounds like most of England felt it.

I have reports in from woken friends from as far as London too. Leeds and Sheffield people too.

It felt exactly like when my house was buzzed by a US air force helicopter (of the Vietnam movie variety).

BBC just reported it was a 4.7, centred on Hull.

Maybe Prezza fell out of bed.

Not the first time, it seems Dogger Bank, 1931

I'd better give my mate Mike up in Hull a call... if he's been tinkering with his Tesla machines again... maybe Bransholme got took down again.

He probably started it--the land offended him so he stared at it and England quivered in fear.

Or a good reason to move out, Oct.

I thought my laptop was sitting on my femoral artery here in London when it started shaking. That and my body 'felt' it though nothing else was moving, it was less powerful than when I used to live in a tower block next to railtracks and the big cargo trains went past.

Considered Twittering it but thought that people would think me mad...

Yeah, some guy I know on some other boards mentioned this...we've been feeling aftershocks around here too...

It was more of a wobble in Cambridge, but still knocked a few things over. I was sitting there thinking "Bloody hell! An earthquake!", but it only lasted a second or two.

@ChrisSick, I hear there will be some decent ocean front property in Arizona in the coming years.

i was dead asleep. i felt nothing. booo.

heard on the radio this morning it was a 5.something...

we get small tremors every now and then in the UK, most are unnoticed and definatly not this big. i remember a news report a few years back where a quake made a CCTV camera in a city centre shake, but nobody on the camera actually noticed...
