Anywho, this is what I'll be picking up after work this eve:
AUTHORITY PRIME #5 BATMAN #674 CAPTAIN AMERICA #35 CRIMINAL 2 #1 DAREDEVIL #105 GRAVEL #1 KICK ASS #1 ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #119 X-MEN LEGACY #208
I think I'm most excited for the return of Criminal. It's going to be glorious.
I'm debating over the Thunderbolts one-shot. I haven't been all that impressed with the other Thunderbolts one-shots, though I actually kinda dig the Penance mini.
I've been begrudgingly getting Authority Prime. I wasn't impressed with the first three issues and was just about to drop it, but issue four pushed me to continue with the series (ends at issue six).
I had been picking up David's She-Hulk, but decided last issue to drop it. I'll still keep an eye and ear out, in case PAD finds a groove.
I'm tempted to start picking up Fables this week, being that I finally went back and have read the trades, but I think I'll just keep reading the book collected. I really appreciate it, but it doesn't grab me enough to warrant a purchase.
But enough of my babble, what's everyone else looking forward to?
also kick ass #1. im very curious about how this will be- i think there wont be a middle ground, it will either be superbly done, or too much of a tongue in cheek, faked youth joke. i hope its good though!
I've seen several reviews for Kick Ass #1 so far (Comics Bulletin & IGN), and everyone seems to either like or love it. I was worried, too, that it would be bad, but my worries have since been squashed.
But yeah, moment I get home, I'm busting open Criminal.
Is anyone else on here reading Rex Libris? This is a damn fine book. Chock full of weird, stuffed with information and wit and just plain smart-assery. Beautifully designed too.
Ah, and the Andy Diggle trade of Hellblazer. That's some proper scary John Constantine there.
Gravel Kick Ass Draw magazine Rasl - new jeff smith!! Narcopolis Dr Who - maybe Jack of Fables Young Lusty Sluts SC - just kiddin' , wanted to see who was actually paying attention :)
I get my books from two stores, since I like to support whatever stores are in my area. At the one I stopped at today I picked up: JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #13 DAN DARE #4 ACTION COMICS #862 NEW WARRIORS #9 FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH #5 UNCLE SAM AND THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS #6 THOR #6
When I go to the other store I will be picking up: GRAVEL #1 KICK ASS #1 PROJECT SUPERPOWERS #1
Thor was great as usual, love the interaction between the gods and the town folk
JSA is a classic superhero team at its finest and in all its gaudy colors, one of the few DC books worth reading
Proof from Image is a great monster book more people need to read, almost like x-files but more monster centric
Daredevil has really hit a snag with the past 6 issues,Milla has become annoying as hell and Fear's motivations were as clear as a dirty window, most likely dropping this
Cap continues is glory streak with some Guice goodness
Superpowers was a great start,Golden Age heroes rock
picked up a bigass stack of books, didnt get to read yet...grrr
edit:except kickass! it was fully fucking awesome. wanna read criminal so bad, but its one i have to slow down and enjoy, and i just didnt have the time yesterday.
Store I am now going to didn't get Wormwood for some reason, so I had to go to The Store That Won't Carry Avatar. While there they were actually having a discussion about whether or not they'd be getting Anna Mercury. One guy said, I shit you not, "Well it's Ellis, but it's also Avatar."
