Great idea ! Here's a radio show we did for brap fm ...some kind of beats station based in Brighton , normally specialising in hiphop and trance.

We , however , went for playing an hour and a half of Faust , Black Moth Super Rainbow , Pram , Kemiallset Ystavat , Coil ,
Scott Walker , Autechre , Sunburned Hand of the Man , Radiophonic Workshop , and ,er , some of our own stuff.

Some technical errors and incompetent /charismafree rambling.......

I'll get a tracklist if anyone's interested. It was fun.

agh. I'm not a DJ, but I've made several themed CD mixes with sound bites in between the tracks-- would that kind of thing count?

    hell yes.

I'm an old-school freeform radio DJ (26 years so far), and I don't do "mixes" so much as "juxtapositions". But I'm still living in a dial-up universe - so I can post playlists, not the music (never mind heinous copyright issues).

@remotepush - "Honor Thy Error as A Hidden Intention" (Brian Eno Oblique Strategies)

@kernowdrunk - Yes! That's real radio! Slap some synapses!

My DJ name (though primarily my musical alias) is Freeze Etch, I'm the resident DJ at an event called Axis Of Evil in Bloomington, IN, and have been going at it in the clubs for a little over two years (though I've done student/community radio for considerably longer)... Unfortunately I don't really have any of my more recent club mixes available, but here is an older mix, in two-part form (and yes, there are not one, but TWO songs from the Batman Forever soundtrack...):

    Daft Punk - "Alive"
Benny Benassi - "Who's Your Daddy?"

PART TWO -- Freeze Etch @ Axis Of Evil 07.29.2006:

Polysics - "Black Out Fall Out"
    Numb - "Closer"
    Gridlock - "Pallid"
Massive Attack (feat. Tracey Thorn) - "The Hunter Gets Captured By the Game"

    Lusine ICL - "Lazydayz"
Clock DVA - "Voice Recognition Test"
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - "There Is A Light"

    - - -

...Also, just for good measure, here is an example of a recent setlist (though I do not have audio, sorriez):

    Akala - "Electro Livin'"
    Totakeke - "Power Of Ideas"
    Individual Totem - "WWW"
    Bipol - "Sweet Bombs"
    Die Warzau - "Bodybag"

OK. my very first pair of CD mixes, the first song of which is my very first attempt at "remixing" a song. (I took a track from the Matrix soundtrack and overlaid it with Matrix sound bites-- it was 1999 and I didn't know much. hell, I was only using Goldwave.)

Music for an Unquiet Sleep - Disc One

Bands: Bush, Curve, Ice Cube, Noel Gallagher, Moby
Sound bites: Matrix, Aliens, King of the Hill, Silence of the Lambs, X-files
(bonus track from The Frantics - Boot to the Head: Ti Kwan Leep)

Music for an Unquiet Sleep - Disc Two

Bands: Lo-Fidelity Allstars, Bush, Tori Amos and BT, Glass Candle Grenade, Moby, NIN, Marilyn Manson
Sound bites: Black Francis, the Matrix, Star Wars Episode I, The Lost Boys, Clerks, The Shining, Se7en, Highlander, Silence of the Lambs
(bonus track from The Frantics - Boot to the Head: Last Will and Testament)

Hahaha! And here I was thinking I wasn't going to find any new music today! Now I've got enough to last my entire shift, and its all awesome and full of so much win. Too bad I'm still trying to get a decent download speed, as a consequence some files aren't downloading fully :< What I hear is great tho. Wish I knew enough to add my two cents so I'll post a friends website instead
ARKiV! Is gonna kill me if he ever finds out.

I'll stop lurking and post these three from the past summer.

    feed me

    2007.08.06 - vacancy

Vacancy, the first mix in this series, features a wide range of artists and genre-bending music, from the sampled tapestries of Amon Tobin and DJ Food to the melding of rock and electronica with 65daysofstatic and Massive Attack. Overall, the tone is fairly introspective and fairly dark.

    Link - dj transistor - 20070806 - vacancy.mp3 (58:23)
mixed with Sony ACID Pro, mastered (barely) in Sound Forge, encoded with LAME

Amon Tobin - Foley Room - Ever Falling
UNKLE - Never Never Land - Eye for an Eye Backwards
Massive Attack - Danny the Dog - One Thought at a Time
Meat Beat Manifesto - At The Center - Musica Classica
Bonobo - Days To Come - On Your Marks
    Aim - Hinterland - Linctus
DJ Food - Kaleidoscope - The Crow
65daysofstatic - The Fall Of Math - I Swallowed Hard, Like I Understood
Boom Boom Satellites - Out Loud - An Owl
Lost Highway Soundtrack - Trent Reznor - Driver Down
Bohren & der Club of Gore - Sunset Mission - Prowler
The Avalanches - Since I Left You - Pablo's Cruise
Kid Koala - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Drunk Trumpet

    2007.08.03 - oppidan

Oppidan - (adj) - of a town; urban. Continuing the foray into experimental jazz with just a touch of drum and bass after a series of hot Atlanta nights, this week sees Tom Jenkinson square off with the likes of Chris Bowden and a dedicated Mocean Worker.

    Link - dj transistor - 2007.08.13 - oppidan (57:48)
mixed with Sony ACID Pro, mastered (barely) in Sound Forge, encoded with LAME

    Aim - Flight - Intro
Mr. Scruff - Trouser Jazz - Beyond
Plaster - First Aid Kit - Orgie
Mocean Worker - Enter the Mowo! - Salted Fatback
Squarepusher - Music is Rotted One Note - Circular Flexing
    DJ Krush & Toshinori Kondo - Ki-Oku - Mu-Getsu
DJ Shadow - Music from the film Dark Days - Dark Days Theme
The Cinematic Orchestra - Xen Cuts - Channel 1 Suite (Four Tet remix)
Skalpel - Skalpel - So Far
Chris Bowden - Beautiful Nasty - Original Sins
Quantic - Apricot Morning - Trouble from the River
City of Lost Children Soundtrack - Marianne Faithfull - Who will take your dreams away

    2007.08.20 - calamity

Calamity starts off normally enough a rousing taste of French electro artist Vitalic, but swiftly descends into an aggressive mix of glitchy beats and gritty synths in a world of Submerged, DJ? Acucrack and Venetian Snares. Thom Yorke ends up in an unfamiliar position of having to be the voice of reason.

    Link - dj transistor - 2007.08.20 - calamity (59:54)
mixed with Sony ACID Pro, mastered (barely) in Sound Forge, encoded with LAME

Vitalic - OK Cowboy - Poney Part 2

Venetian Snares - Pink & Green - Nutimik
    µ-Ziq - Lunatic Harness - Approaching Menace

DJ? Acucrack - Sorted - Optimizer
Cujo - Adventures in Foam - Cat People
Thom Yorke - Spitting Feathers - Harrowdown Hill (Extended Mix)

If there's interest, I can create / post more. If you like my photography, check out my some of my recent images.

i'll have to work out a way of getting the tracklists included as it tells me that it's 9874 characters too long, but there's everything from kylie to john cage to lenny bruce to kraftwerk to the radiophonic workshop to vincent price and so on.
