i think the thing that i am enjoying at the moment is the way the pacing of the story alters depending on which character is the focus. you can already tel that whatever happened kk was some kind of driving force behind it. connor seems more in control. and the new guy, whose name is momentarily escaping me, is consciously distancing himself, suggesting more regret than we have seen in the other two perhaps. the instalment sizes definitely keep you hungry for more :D

I want a shirt with the Freak symbol on it like Carl has...not KK, with text.
Course I'd prefer a pocket on the front left breast for my notebook and fountain pen, or nonexistent S60 phone, I can't even use in the U.S...There'd have to be a smaller Freak symbol on the pocket as well. Have to have that ginormous Freak across the shoulder blades, no rips or tears. All right. Get to work. Who's going to make them? How much will they cost, 60 bills?

Loved the water collector and and the strawbs (so very wimbledon!) and the tinfoil hat is indeed a gem. Yeah, best quote of the week - reminded me of a Silverberg story (?) in which a telepath gets driven to the abyss by such things.

I'm not familiar with the topography of this area, being from the US. So I have to assume that there are parts of this place that somehow wouldn't be submerged by whatever flooded the world... Can somebody clear this up for me so that I'm not just guessing?

Hi,

just signed up. Can I just say how much I'm really loving FreakAngels. The artwork reminds me of early Josh Middleton before, so vibrant and alive. Every now and again the dialogue jars, but I'm so enamored by the concept and the characters and I'm desperately looking forward to finding out where this goes.

The comic fan in me HAS to have a print edition at some point though, can anyone tell me whether that's been mentioned at all?

Of the three so far, this one is my favorite episode. There is so much to like in these six pages. I love Karl. The look on his face when he hears KK talking to him is priceless and the incidental humor in their interaction was just what I needed. The rainbows are quite lovely and the clawfoot bathtub as a container for the strawberry plants was so cool!

~Kim - We set up a cousin with a clawfoot bathtub planter. The old tub was cleaned, put on it's side and partially filled with compost, soil and whatnot. Was a heck of a lot of work, but the result was gorgeous.

This is just good work. Regardless of format, page count, convention, price, marketplace, style, environment, geoeconomicopolitical sassafrass, just regardless of...

Powerfully good stuff, and yet another example of, "Why would I do this? How could I not?" that we seem to get more and more of from Mr. Ellis and a few others (like Mr. Duffield, whose star is swelling exponentially, I suspect--we'd all do well to mark the time we saw such a flashpoint in real time).

Thanks for opening your doors for any and all, guys. And Warren, I know you're on a cyber-island and only able to access the web through some unspeakable Frankenstein-cum-Stevenson coconut based process, but I hope you can soak up the adoration coming your way.

Well, I just now joined the site, even though I've been gulping down great big helpings of FreakAngels since it first started. What do I think so far? As usual, Ellis starts off with a whisper instead of a bang, choosing to allow us into the craniums of the important characters before the action sets in. I like the connection between the characters we've met thus far. They really do behave like siblings. Talk like them, expect like them, sneer like them. LOL. I've got four brothers and a sister, all of us adults, so trust me, I know. I'm glad to be sitting alongside the rest of you for this ride. Hopefully, it'll be long and just as entertaining, not to mention just as brilliant, as all of Warren's Kaboost Rides are.

The writing "speaks" for itself. The art? HOLY SHIT!!!! If it weren't for the fact that this is completely free, I'd make it an everyday task to threaten the writer and the artist with the Nuclear Innard Seeking Harpoon rusting on my living room wall until they killed themselves getting this hyper-excellent shit out five times a month...ya know, if it was being published the usual way, that is to say, on the skin of raped and dead trees.

LOL.

Anyway, keep it coming, fellas.

I like that the 20 odd pages thus far have been both decompressed (not in some mad rush to cram exposition up our asses) and yet still been engaging and fulfilling. The webcomic format can lend itself to too much frontloading, but here it feels like the story is being given time to breathe. I also like that each dose is contained, giving us a piece of the larger story but still giving something satisfying all on its own.

Ten Bells? Whitechapel? Such fun.

The rainbow truly, truly is superb.

I love the Ten Bells in there, more than I loved the dodgy jaw and Brown eyes on the Mancunian chick from Episode 0002. I haven't been there for a while, but once upon a time (and as I keep posting in various places) it will live in my heart forever because, back when it was still a dodgy old London boozer, I was taken there on a Friday lunchtime by the guys I was doing work experience with. I was young and naive. I thought the pretty girl in a bikini and a tankard full of money was collecting for charity. I thought the big speakers and the pole with a bit of threadbare carpet at its foot was just charming old decor. I didn't worry that everybody else in the pub was about seventy, and I was seventeen. And I'd never had a naked girl on my lap before.

So imagine my glee. That, and "the wrong side of the river", haha. I live there now. But one day, I shall return...
