Any number of cheap bargain off brands, and probably everything in between whilst bumming from other smokers. My personal favorite, and the brand I shall miss immensely whilst I'm attempting yet again to quit, has been and will always be Kamel Reds

By far the oddest brand/cigarette I've tried, however, was a pack of Ginseng cigarettes sold by a going-out-of-business tobacconist chain in my local mall, couldn't even finish a centimeter of one o those, and they are second only to the cotton candy flavored atrocities in my book of "worlds worst smokes"

It was aroung 8 inches long, the paper was printed to look like newspaper (which is what they used to use as papers), and it took about 1 1/2 hours to smoke, but would go out if not puffed on, so could be stretched over a whole day or two. I have no idea what exactly was in it other than tobacco...

One of my bandmates went to Cuba to study abroad several years ago and brought me a cartoon of Cuban cigarettes that made lucky strikes taste like ultra-lights. I've also had some Guatemalan cigarettes that the filters were dipped in some sort of sugar solution, which gave it a taste similar to cloves, but without the harshness. Another friend brought me some Egyptian cigarettes, but I was hugely disappointed. They tasted just like Carnivals. My favorite cigarette package design is on the Marlboro Reds box in Brazil. The back has a picture of a woman and a man in bed, and the man is holding in face in either frustration or shame while the woman looks at him angrily. The caption underneath says "Smoking causes sexual impotence."
When I'm stuck with what I can get locally, kamel red lights or lucky strike lights are the way to go.

Took it up for two years, smoking the gamut: Marlboro, American Spirit, Camel, Newport, a few cheap brands, rolling tobacco, cloves, cigarillos, et cetera. I even bought a little hookah-style attachment at one point just for fun, but it was too easy to overfill and end up inhaling water... I was working as a bathroom attendant at the time, so I had all sorts of smokables around... The best though were these great little flavored Havana Honey filtered cigars. They tasted magnificent!

I quit two years ago this April 7th. I was feeling like quitting and was on my way to get a tooth pulled. A friend told me that the nitrous oxide killed his cravings for days, so I figured I'd test that out. Sure enough, the tooth came out and I went to work that night and sold cigarettes to customers but never had one. Been clean ever since. They cure cancer, heart disease, emphysema and all the other horrid crap that comes with the habit and I'll go back in a heartbeat for the Havanas though...

After trudging through Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia they're the only local cigs I could stomach. Well more than stomach actually, they weren't that distant from Marlboro Lights. All other local brands were vile, Thai especially. What's sickening, the Liberation cigs cost like 15-25 cents a pack which when converted into English pence is almost non-existent. They were so nice that when we returned to Thailand, gone were the generous nights of handing out packs to mates and strangers when they ran out.
