So is "White Williams" Saul Williams' bizzaro-twin then?
Weird that there seems to be no mention of Echoplex on nin.com.
So, given that we've got two new singles with similar artwork, I'm guessing the "big announcement" due on Monday is a new album. Jesus. I'm used to waiting 5 years between NIN releases and know he's throwing stuff out the door as fast as he can record it. I guess not being on a label lets him do that.
Part of me is secretly hoping, now that Trent is putting stuff out as soon as he makes it, that he falls off the wagon again, hard. That way we'll get to hear all the crazy shit he drunkenly decides to upload at 4am two weeks into a raging bender. There'll be no record label bosses to stop him.
@ liquidcow I hope so too. I'm supposed to be saving money for travelling. Delivery charges are usually the killer part for these releases and the dork in me just doesn't feel right not owning a physical CD.
I've got a feeling that it might be a new EP, along the lines of Broken.
Have to download the mp3's for now, as I don't have a torrent reader on my laptop for the m4a's
*EDIT* after a quick listen through, I'm impressed. Reminds me attitude wise of Broken, but with the polish of Year Zero. Favorite track so far is "Head Down". The Ghosts influence is felt also, as two tracks are instrumental. Looking forward to putting on the headphones tomorrow and really getting into this.
I'm very much enjoying this album. It's a comparatively "simple" one to something like Ghosts... or The Fragile or even Year Zero, but that suits me just fine. Most of it feels very pop-driven, like its Trent's danciest album to date. But the eerie and darker tracks like The Four of Us Are Dying still manage to fit perfectly into the arrangement.
And, hells yes, I'm eagerly awaiting to give Trent my money for a physical copy.
Still don't have my Ghosts deluxe yet. Starting to get royally pissed off about it. I sent an email last week to customer service at Artist in Residence and still have received no reply. Left a voice mail with Artist in Residence explaining things yesterday. Sent an email to ninshop customer service and FINALLY got an acknowledgement that they received my email last night, still no information.
I'd just like to know how Artist in Residence mails their merch out, so I can get a hold of a tracking number from USPS, or Fex Ex, or whoever the fuck they use so I can find out why this is taking so long. I'm boycotting listening to Ghosts until I get this as some kind of sick way to torture myself lol.
Only good NIN news I have is I got tickets for the 8/2 show.
