I'm listening to 'Sackcloth and Ashes' by 16Horsepower. Baptist Christian country punk. It's a lot better than it sounds.

Boxing Fats Domino by DJ BC. Strange mashup artist. This one is Wu-Tang and New Orleans jazz. He did a Beastie boys/Beatles one a little while ago that got some attention.

At War with Walls and Mazes by SON LUX. Utterly spectacular, phenomenal debut, new artist of the year etc. Listen now.

The Clauberg Opera - New Folk Devils. I was a little disappointed with the production which seemed too drum n cymbal heavy but this is awesomely massive melancholic music.

Madvillain's similar artists on last.fm. For the first half hour, I swear there was nothing but other MF Doom side projects.

    Xrin Arms - Black Horses
    Xrin Arms - Disappearing Stable

Picked them both up at the show last Friday. He's blending in a lot of soul and classic public enemy style production into the neo grindcore mix. So now it's one man outsider grind metal soul??1//!!? maybe if you want to put it into words.

    Xrin Arms live in C-attle

Xrin Arms plays in Detroit tomorrow before heading out to the east check his myspace for dates if this could be your thing.

@Vespers thanks for listening to those mixes and having a good time. It means a lot to me.

I'm listening to The Museum of Curiosities on radio four listen again. It's a bit like QI. Sort of. It has Bill Bailey on it anyway. It's about stuff. I like stuff. Who doesn't.

Very excited by the John Barleycorn album...till I get it have been listening to Lightning Bolt for their strangely serene noiseblasts , and New Zealand indie failures The Chills " Submarine Bells" for their poptasticness.

And the much-praised MGMT...not sure if they're melodic frazzled geniuses or the new Dandy Warhols , who I hate for their sense of irony . Too cool to love.

Rip Rig & Panic - I Am Cold

(long overdue for a CD release!)

The Kooks. "She Moves In Her Own Way" just made me want to drink and dance. That's all music really has to do to get me in its corner.
