On the dustperiod laptop / shoegaze / drone front I have an album I just finished that I'm debating what to do with. Do I creative-commons and put it out myself or should I try to find a smaller weblabel/small run thing are try to get my songs about heartbreak, regret, embarrassment, and how kissing is awesome out to more people? If anyone is interested in releasing this get in touch plz.

Here's a little cover I made in 3 hours before a show I played (as my DJ alter-ego Tacopunch) so I could have cds to give to people I know.

It's looking like a remix of Megaera, an alt bottomfeeder remix, a nine inch nails remix i'm working on right now and maybe something else? I do, two part.

My band ('the Shaolin Signal') finished an EP that we tried to get released through a label. That failed for a few different labels ("You guys have a laptop and playback? That's not metal, I can't do anything with it", "You guys have guitars and a drummer? We don't do music like that") and by the time we said "screw it, we'll self release" it was a year later and our full length was almost done.

The EP is "Natura". Conceptually it's the overture to the next two LPs which will be "The End of the World" and "And What Came After". It's our interpretation of what cybermetal should sound like. The EP also has remixes of us by half of the South Cali powernoise/industrial scene since that's sorta who ended up adopting us into their fold more than anyone else.

I'm new to Whitechapel, second post, so I'm not sure if it's ok to ask, but if you have a British version of a PO box or something like that, I'd be happy to send you a physical CD copy.

Colvig is working on a new EP ("Glitch"), since it's been 5 years since the last one... Plus an album, tentatively titled "Laughing Gas Heart Attack", which should be finished by June, give or take.

We're currently working on our next release, should be out in June, and have samples up by May. 5 song EP of new material, and the first 100 will come with a 4 song 7" with two covers, one original, and one track we're trying to do some kind of active content thing. We'll be loading the CDs and records up with some neat little extras, and then offering the actual EP itself online for download. Can't wait to get into the studio and record this thing.

We just got the cover art back, and I'm really happy with it:

Thanks, man. We're excited about the new record, it's definitely a progression for us. Lots of influence from heavier stuff like Electric Wizard, and then the faster, craziness of G.I.S.M. I think the songs are turning out pretty good so far. We're working with a different guy to record too, and he's got a much better handle on what we're going for than the guy who did the last EP.

Vinyl is the way to go. Nothing is better than getting a record slammed with foldouts, stickers, posters, and huge gorgeous art on the sleeve.

yeah, i always prefer vinyl-im just nerdy that way. especially designing art for bands, the difference in design is HUGE. plus you cant top colored vinyl, die cut vinyl, pic discs, etc, oplus all the awesome shit that comes with a good chunk of records.

and the more GISM influence, the better! i heart japanese hardcore.

I've compiled 2-CDs of all my old (80's) material, Cryptomusicology. It will either come out as 2 CDs, one CD of mp3s plus all the artwork on the disc (a do it yourself kit, kinda, the liner notes would describe how to construct it), or I'll sell them track by track on MySpace... or two out of three. After filling closets over the years with unsold vinyl, I'm not sure I really need to release a solid object.

I don't have a CD myself, but I'd like to toss out a plug for my cousin Jordan Zevon, whose first full-length CD comes out in April. His dad Warren was one of the greatest songwriters we've ever had, and Jordan's got a tough road ahead to follow in those giant-sized footsteps, but from what I've heard, I think he's doing great so far. I'll have another compilation coming out around May. I've also sent "This Puzzle" and a couple of the remixes out to a few labels in the hopes that someone might want to press it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one.

The comp. will include a lot of new stuff I have been working on for awhile now (including a track with Offtandiscord!); and I'm really excited about how it's shaping up thus far. More than likely it will be another netlabel release, but in the event someone would like to actually print and distribute hard copies, I'll let you know!

Well, since you asked… I thought I’d whore my band a bit.

We’re a UK based band. Our music blends various strains of extreme music, taking its cues from doom, stoner rock, prog rock, post rock and metal. Our music will likely appeal to fans of bands like Mastodon, Knut, Neurosis, Isis, Tool and Shora. Our debut album ‘Vantage’ will be released late May on the small Nottingham based indie label Sound Devastation Records.

We roped in Danica Novgordoff to do the cover art, the same lovely lady who created that beautiful little comic ‘A Late Freeze’. Any Wasteland readers may have noted that Anthony bigged us up in the letters column this month. What can I say, Anthony likes stuff that induces bleeding… from the ears.

Two new tracks from ‘Vantage’ as well as our complete early demos are available to listen to on our Official website and Myspace, as well as some promotional videos featuring footage from the ‘Vantage’ recording sessions in Holland.

I finished an album called Plate and its artwork toward the end of last year, and have yet to do any kind of release other than posting it to the internet.

It's mostly acoustic guitar and singing done simultaneously into a single room mic, with some piano interludes and gradual increase of layering from start to finish.

My band, Seize Them! has just finished up our first, self-titled EP. It's at the pressing plant now and should be back in our hands by April 25th. The disc will be sold through our website, seizethem.com, at shows, and at our indie label's webstore.
It will also be on sale as digital downloads at the iTunes Music Store, Amazon.com, Napster, Rhapsody, EMusic and music.com, though probably not until early June.
We're releasing this EP under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike 3.0 license to encourage people to adopt, adapt and improve our music in their own ways.
I'll comment again when the disc is in our hands and ready for sale.

I have a new double 3" cd called "Thousands" coming soon on Debacle Records (myspace.com/debaclerecords) called thousands. First disc is all performed live on instruments (Guitar, Harmonium, Percussion, etc.) and the second disc is all electronic (Max/MSP, Synth).

Okay, as promised, I'm commenting again now that the CD is a physical reality.

The EP is five songs, and you can get a CD in a slick digipak with a free sticker for $5 or you can buy a download (of the whole thing or individual tracks, DRM-free) from the iTunes Music Store. If you'd like to hear us first (and who wouldn't?), we offer most of our live shows for free download in .mp3 and FLAC format on our website, and what we've got featured right now is the recording of our EP release show from 4.25.08. We're also on the myspace.

Enjoy, folks! It's an eclectic record that leans toward straight up rock music, but there's an electro dance track and a drinking song as well. Something for everybody. And as I mentioned before, the whole thing is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 license.

My friend is releasing his debut 7" this spring, hopefully by March. We're having issues with the artwork. I'm doing the design work for him. CD versions will be pressed for promotional purposes but the record comes with a digital download card so you can just put the songs on your iTunes and have a cool-looking record. It's um, "indie-pop?" Not sure, it sounds good though.
