Hey all! ^_^ I just wanted to create a thread for people to say thanks and give some attention to someone who works behind-the-scenes on Freakangels. Because the schedule for me is pretty punishing (doing roughs, neats and colouring 6 pages a week on top of other projects), I hired a flatter to make the colouring less time consuming and stressful. I think she's signed up to the forum as Weem, and you wouldn't be getting 6 pages a week without her! Please check out her site, as her own work is great :)
Who said creative types were all self, self, self eh? Looks like you're doing a good job on Freakangels Weem! Respect to you. Some nice work in your gallery too - Persona 2 Maya is very well executed.
@sacredchao - That's doing the rough coloring, spilling the paintbucket everywhere in Photoshop/Illustrator, letting Paul focus on prettying it up afterwords(shading, textures, etc)
Just had time for a quick peek at the DevArt page, anyone that rolls with a (great looking) Katamari ID a A-OK in my book!
Yeah, pretty much. It's selecting areas and putting down flat colours that I can then tweak to my own preference and then work into. Alana's colour choice is lovely though, and I chose her partly because it matched up quite well with the sort of look I'm working with on Freakangels. After the flats I'll play with the colours until I've got a coherent base-scheme that I like. Then I cel-shade the page, then add all sorts of lighting effects to the cel shading to unify the colour scheme, then texture the colours. For anyone familiar with html and css, see flatting as content and the rest of colouring as style.

Kudos to the both of you on your massive skills. Since you seem like nice people, I'll only wish I can eat your brains and aquire your artistic knowledge. :D
