I had a very intense dream sometime in the last month. I was sitting in a large room with large windows, a mixture between my office room and the first grade classroom. Heavy storm was shaking the whole room. Suddenly the room tilted and I flew against the window which opened and I fell outside. The "screen" went black and I thought "Ok. That's it" and woke up.

The, haha, mechanics of the Freakangel site were thought through very carefully. It's a tactile thing, or as much as you can do it online without faking it. Episodes are encapsulated six-page things, and every page deserves a full scroll and the reader choosing to move on to the next -- not just hitting anywhere on the page, but consciously clicking the next number in sequence, or flipping back to reread the previous. It's convenient navigation that forces you to slow down just enough to catch things you might have otherwise missed. The main reason the front page of the site is a full link is for new readers -- it makes it harder to miss that it's not just the one page, as an episode/booklet's a bit different from what one might expect.

as to the last panel. i like the stopped effect of it - meaning that i was more likely to just stop and consider and look at the page because it is a last panel than i would have been had it not been a surprise, had the timing not seemed at first slightly odd. it's a good device in storytelling - get your audience to be silent for a moment and look around them.

the artwork is still, and even more, captivating every time i read this.

Just want to say thanks to Warren for doing things like this, and Fell, that dare to try putting comics out in different ways.

I used to live in Suffolk (until I escaped) and I think I am pretty certain that it has been drifting apart from the rest of the country in time for quite a long while now...The Big Splash (what a great sounding thing!) probably just accelerated it!

The art is fantastic. The vision of London, with its soft colours and handdrawn lines is haunting and somehow sad. Kind of like music in a minor key.

I already have the right boots.
