    Unsurprisingly, my new laptop can't access Second Life. Or, more correctly, it gets me in there for about fifteen seconds before locking up. I will make a few more stabs at trying to disburse some money immediately on entering, but it appears I'm going to be offgrid until such time as my desktop machine is returned to me.

    Oh, and if anyone tried sending me an IM inworld over the last few weeks? They all got lost on the first crash, sorry.

    have you tried an alternative viewer ? try onrez, with all settings to low, or the bog standard linden variety with everything turned down.

    to add to frenchbloke's comments, I've found I get much better performance with Windlight than with the regular viewer, even with the graphics settings higher than zero.

    I tend to donate to locations I really like having as neighbors. You aren't the only recipient of such things. Good neighbors are hard to find.
