See, if you upload video to YouTube, you can take the URL of the video (not the embed instructions) and put it into the video/mp3 button in a Whitechapel posting window. And the video will appear here automagically.
So you know what you should all start doing? Shooting videos and posting them here. May as well make use of the facilities, right?
(Dunno if it works with Vimeo, Revver, Seesmic etc. Ariana?)
I present Wonky, a short film I "acted" in and helped with sound, shot back in Oct 2006 (I know, Warren, you want new stuff, but this is all I got). It's the only thing I've ever done, yet it nabbed me an IMDb entry!
I play Brooks, who's name is never mentioned in the film, so I have to point myself out to you. I'm the guy sitting at the desk reading the paper (at the very start).
this was shot friday, not by me but by the people i work with on other stuff. iron sheik and honky tank man, drunk. my guys heard about them being at the clubhouse venue in tempe as part of a comedy show. they got on the guest list and hoped for an interview-had no idea what was going to happen.
video from saturday-, their first show. crowd was kinda tame and the sound isnt so good- its all worth it for the very end when an errant drumstick flies directly into the lens. hahaha, genius.
This is me doing Stand-up for an audience in Karachi, Pakistan. For translation purposes, "Mullah" or "MMA" are Religious Extremists (ie. Taliban types).
apologies from the start for poor quality. clips taken from my digital camera. this first is from the volume exhibition, a combination of light and sound, which was on at the V&A in london when i was there last january:
buskers in the streets of glasgow, combining african drumming with bagpiping. of particular interest is the drunk guy dancing, who was an elvis wannabe.
hope i'm not spamming by posting a few. i only have a handful of clips, and then you'll probably never see another from me ;) this one is from the live gig by KTL in glasgow's nice 'n' sleazy - a project combining the guitar drone/noise of stephen o'malley (sunnO) and electronic/noise of peter rehberg (pita)
last one. honest. this one has some clipping :( but i think its decent enough to give an idea of how it should be. emmy the great, live at glasgow's king tut's wah wah hut, the super cute anti-folk singer :)
A few videos from some Dorkbot Paris events (that I co-organize with other very nice people) : People mostly speak french in these videos (what with us being french and all), but images are universal... :).
(real) drum controller for fighting video game, feedback machines, reactable, audio tapes surgery, circuit bending :
about 3 years ago i went to an emmy the great show that was so empty the promoters called it off, so instead i just helped her carry stuff backk to her car... and now she's playing bloody SXSW!
Does animation count? I recycle this bloody everywhere, so sorry if you've seen it before, but It's about all I've got video-wise. This was my final project at uni. Apologies if it's a little vague/artsy, they wouldn't let me get away with something more filmic with an actual storyline. *pout*
@offtandiscord: she seems to be doing pretty well for herself, though does she even have a record deal yet? certainly not aware of an album. i found her mostly by accident when i went to that gig. brother was telling me gigs that were on and he was like there is this dull ass indie band or this anti-folk teenager that he wasn't convinced about, a quick bout of youtube sorted that argument out :D
