I've removed the Office Stygian section and rolled all the Second Life posts into what was The Electric Telegraph but what is now just called Internet.
I'm considering changing the Retropunk section to, simply, Science Fiction (or maybe Fantastika) (or perhaps even Fantastika!). Also wondering if we need a dedicated Music section, at this point.
It's been six months. Time to look at what's working and what isn't.
Everything's working perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned, but I do like the idea of renaming Retropunk. "Retropolis: Steampunk Etc" is - I'm sorry - ugly. "Fantastika" sounds way better, or maybe just "Science Fiction".
As for the music section... why not? Subcategory of Art and Noise, perhaps, to keep everything organized?
Yes, a dedicated music section would be appreciated. Hunting down threads I don't post in is a hassle. I'd call it simply MUSIC, but I'm a KISS kinda female.
Art and Noise would need a new title if MUSIC were to exist. Maybe just 'ART' or something close to it.
I would love to see a Music section, particularly since this board and the one before turned me on to a lot of stuff I would have passed by before (God forgive me, my musical tastes have congealed in 1999).
no complaints, everything seems fine...a suggestion though:
- might need a separate category for film/tv, though depends on semantics and definition of 'Art', or could just rename it 'Pictures' (as in pictures and moving pictures)
Oh, I like the idea of having "art and noise" separated into "pictures" and "noise". I am terribly fond of "noise" in reference to music. It pleases me.
How about Science of the Fantastic? I also like Noise for a music category name. Having just been seduced by the Darkside (i.e. iPod) I'd like more new content to put on it.
Think the current books/magazines/comic umbrella works well myself. The community seems to view them fairly interchangeably for discourse. Also, the simple majority of topics, at a glance, seem to be comic related. So printheads without comics, especially with a possible Fantastika! section elsewhere, would mean leaving the topic for a very small amount of threads or removing it and orphaning non-genre print discussion.
