Pep was convicted of killing a cat belonging to the governor of Pennsylvania's wife and sentenced to life in prison. He was incarcerated in the Eastern State Penitentiary as inmate number C2559, and was allowed to stay in whatever cell he chose. He was bussed with the other prisoners to work on the new prison in Graterford, Penn.
There was a story going around that Pep was actually donated to the prison by the governor to increase inmate morale. I'm not sure if that was actually the case or not.
I want to know what 'serbian turo-folk' sounds like! ;P
Turbofolk in Serbia was/is strongly identified with both the Milosevic years (when it was perceived as party-approved culture to keep people dumb) and the rightwing nationalist movement there (turbofolk star Ceca famously married the war criminal Arkan). It's basically regional folk vocals put to shitty pop music.
