The story keeps getting better. They are going to have to hunt him down and kill him, despite the fact they don't want to. Given their abilities, that would be one hell of a fight.

Nice little intimate scene there, well paced, the art great as always, but we didn't really learn anything new, just a necessary scene in the overall scheme...I guess it would feel more fulfilling if it wasn't just a 6 page installment.

The art is gorgeous. The story is so good though, that I have to make myself stop and look at the art rather than burn right through it.

I really like the 6 page weekly installments. I know they're short, but there'll be another one in a week. Much better than waiting a month+ for a print comic.

Very solid bit of continuation, and as we're starting to see the bigger picture as far as the Freakangels' relationships with each other go, man do I like the look of it.

Beautiful work on both sides; I was especially impressed, once again, with the lighting techniques in the art. Beautifully natural-looking.

I'm impressed with the timing of the story, each section fits nicely within the 6 page increment. Does it take a plan for each particular installment, or is the overall story chopped and trimmed to fit.

Connor isn't in trouble, probably. If he can sift through people's heads, he can surely give a Northern Girl the impression that she's about to cut someone's throat without it actually being there.

That's just a shot in the dark, tho.

I'm loving it, and wish there were an animation studio on it.

And me, every time I pick up my pencil! I really miss animation, and working on this is so much like designing a storyboard I keep longing to see it move. A lot of the panels are designed just like key-frames.
I might do a mini-animation of one of the characters as a tester if I ever get time, or if I just get too attached to a scene. I've already done a 3D model of KK's bikicopter (my nickname for it in my head ^^) to help me out with roughing :)

Gorgeous as always and another intriguing scene. Keep it coming and I'll keep devouring.

It seems to me that Connor is trying to make sure she breaks out of the the rewire herself rather than force her. That way he'll know she believes them.

Tense episode this; loved the looks on her face as she sprung the knife. Art awesome as all get out; storyline continues to intrigue. Crap bandage job tho.

Best part was the dialogue, sharp as usual, and it's perfectly matched by Paul Duffield's superb and expressive artwork, especially the colors. Also, I'd say this is the best cliffhanger yet. Great episode.

People complain about the short installments but six pages per week, fully colored, at this quality level, is fabulous out-put for one artist. Paul, did you guys set this up so that you're half-way through the book when the serialization starts, with the plan to have the serial not quite catch up to you by story's end?

Oh yes. For some reason Freak Angels really hit me with this installment. The art and the story combined were a two hit combo. What I'm about to say may seem silly: I want a trade of this. I appreciate the generous offerings of two pros doing it for the love, don't get me wrong...however, I love the tactile sensation of flipping through pages. Here's to a Freak Angels hardcover when the story is all wrapped up. (Never gotten an Avatar hardcover, but I'm sure they're as sexy as the monthly books are.)

@ Paul: I never usually like it when a non-Asian person draws anime/manga style art. That is besides Adam Warren. Now you are on that list of people who do it well. It shows you have a background in animation, it takes that flowing kanji hand to draw like you do.

Crap bandage job tho.

*Realistic* bandage job. Head bandages are a bastard to do until you know the trick. Once you know the trick they are easy as anything, even if the punter is drunk and/or unconscious. Has the happy side effect of making them look like Axel Rose...

I'm also intrigued by the pacing, hitting those six page beats every time. It'd be interesting to see how it works if/when collected into a dead tree version.

I love all the close-ups on the eyes; beautifully done, Paul!

This is an intriguing little scene, very telling of these two characters, though, people have many facets...I am looking forward to seeing which way this little encounter goes.
