    I do fear for Xeni sometimes. Even more than when she disappears into Guatemala for weeks at a time to set up communications stations in the bush and the like.

    reminds me of Snow Crash. I can't remember what it is off the top of my head but there was some name for people who walked around strapped with computers constantly in the metaverse....course I guess we are kinda well beyond the point of this being surprising these days.

    @alwayscrashing, I seem to remember a line in snowcrash that suggested the reason they were referred to as such was that they often ended up perched in one spot whenever something interesting was going on so they could record the whole event, often somewhere higher up for a better view.
