Is it just me, or is there a kind of creepy "Silent Hill" look about it? It's pure awesome, but I would be VERY scared if I was on the opposing side and saw that with a gun mounted heading towards me. It gives me the impression that no matter where I run to, it WILL find me and it won't stop until it does.
Glad you guys enjoy it as much as I do. I'm really hoping that it's military applications also turn into peaceful ones. Actuators and balance sensors like that one could launch prosthetics into the "Shadowrun ZOMG lookit his cyberlegs!" level of technology. On the military end... it's got terrifying possibilities. That thing is amazing, but creepy. It looks like something out of Half Life 2. It's sort of true what the article says, it's so lifelike that you almost feel bad for it when they kick it to demonstrate it finding its balance again, but at the same time I'm bizarrely grossed out by it like it's a giant spider or something.
