I feel incredibly mawkish and uncomfortable doing this but here going:

As most people here probably know, Terry Pratchett, my favorite living author, has early-onset Alzheimer's.

As most people here probably also know, Mr Pratchett has donated $1,000,000 to Alzheimer's research.

Now Pratchett's fans are being asked to Match it for Pratchett - to collectively raise another $1,000,000 for Alzheimer's research.

The site's organisers have a direct link to the Alzheimer's Research Trust, are taking donations to keep the site running and are selling merchandise via Cafe Press.

I think I'm going to order a shirt and donate $50.

i might just buy stuff too. i love pratchett's work and my grandma has alzheimers, it's such a horrible condition...

My grandma had alzheimer's for several years, and Pratchett's work is so wonderfully human. I'll definitely give something.

A damned shame is what it is, a mind like that going away.

actually pratchett has said that he'd prefer if people went to the alzheimer's site rather than going through match it. as match it isn't official. its not e doesn't rust he would just prefer people donated then told them... although the t shirts are quite cool
