Well, that's...well there you go.

Good morning, Whitechapel. How'd we all do this week?

Another great looking episode. I was wondering if one of the group would be using their talents to create themselves a harem - looks like Sirkka fits the bill!
Interesting to see them 'flush' her mind out. Why didn't Connor do that to begin with? I guess he prefers to use his talents as a last resort? Did he think she could break through Mark's influence by herself and it would make her stronger? Good stuff.

I'm here. At this point in the semester, sleep is overrated. Have you been to bed yet, Ariana?

The more I read FreakAngels, the better it gets. I'll have to come back and gush later tonight, when I have more time.

Kinda wondered about the harem myself, so yes.

Loved how they just completely took her out and flushed her out so efficiently.

Some goodness to wake up to on a (today fairly bleak) Friday morning.

I think this has been my favourite episode so far. Now that the main players have all been established, this felt nicely rich and nuanced - we're getting to see just where the fault lines lie within the gang. I've not seen many good examples of team/ensemble casts like this in comics, especially in 6 page weeklies. This seems to have hit the mark though.

Another average week, another far above-average FreakAngels. Sirkka is fun, and what they've done to the Manchester girl is a very nice look at more of what the gang can do. I'm liking the upped stakes.

Onwards and upwards!

The only thing I don't care about, when it comes to these comics or things I guess theatrical, they have to be theatrical. That the cut in a neck is about way too much to be just standing there; and poised delicate, thinking/talking and not quickly hunched over, hands batting away, and in incredible pain. I suppose the next chapter it will be just a mere flesh wound that heals in less than a week. Now sure, these are special people, able to get people to purge...but, I WANT A JOB JUST LIKE THAT. Watching or whatever. I'm good too. So what if I'm an idiot? I can read and I can write and think a bit too. The first cut is the deepest. But lay off. Loved the knife shattering. Cool. But it better not be all cartoony and not have a bandage or something in the next frame. Course, that will be next whatever and time will have passed and we'll have the character beyond the healing period and there won't be any more bandage if any shown at all. Right. It's just a comic...and in the fall or spring of next year the TPB.

Now that the main players have all been established,

There are a dozen Freakangels. We've still got players to establish.

And i sincerely look forward to meeting them all. They just seem to be getting more and more intriguing taking us deeper and deeper into this wasted out and flooded rabbit hole.

Good comic. I won't say I love it 110%, but I do sincerely like it; and things that catch my interest sharply tend to fade after a while; solid likes tend to be more permanent. I like the light/shadow, the design of the scenelets, and what characterization we have so far. It's well done, solid work, obviously something the guys have worked hard to create, and I appreciate their work.

Shallow neck wounds bleed a fuck of a lot (I'm bad a shaving, I should know).

I'm finding Connor more interesting than Sirkka. Folks that try and fix stuff are more heroic I think.

Damn right they do. I was iffy about growing a beard until I realised I'd be saving myself from slashing my fucking throat all the time.

Thanks for this. (I'd say more, but week three of insomnia has made me very stupid. Or more stupid than usual. Or something.)

Don't cut your ears shaving - it goes on for bloody hours. Not that I need to shave my ears, no.

I like the harem. Yes. That's what I'd do, probably, find a big old grand building, with chandeliers, and turn it into a pit of decadence.

I'd do the same, but I swear my stubble is made up of thousands of tiny knives... Once it gets beyond a certain length I actually have difficulty sleeping because the itching HURTS Oo

You have to brave it past that, it soon softens again ;)

I really enjoy the functioning of their telepathy/telekinesis. It's not often that you see the psychic ability living to full potential. It'd definately be an ALWAYS ON sort of thing, woudn't it? Always wanting privacy... or wanting to shut someone out of your head. Very interesting.
I'm not surprised to find a big room full of naked people in an Ellis story, but I am VERY surprised to find them conveniently covering up and protecting my fragile eyes from viewing their nudity. Maybe this is more PG-13 than I thought.

The art...
Very interesting work. But there are some very awkward perspectives and proportions. A specific reference would be in the first panel of the third page... it's a little off. Anyway, enough with the bad. I LOVE the attention Mr. Duffield is giving to the surroundings. Beautiful! From the tile floors to the broken celing light haning off-balance, and all the curtains in between, it's just great! Lovely lighting, btw, when the doors first open to the room. One thing that had me curious was the pool of what looked to be blood on the floor in the hall. Little details like that go a long way.

I've gotten more than I'd anticipated from this story so far. A few more weeks and I'll have more to say.
