Sweet zombie Jesus, I wish I was thin enough to pull off the look you'd have to have to be wearing those clothes. Instant favorite is the black hoodie.
Yeah, I'm going to need this. Thank god for the Bush Administration and their financial sense and the fact that I'll be in New York next month will mean not only can I get this, but it will be dirt cheap as well.
...the Paul Pope line features original graphics by the artist, whose Spiderman and Batman renditions for Marvel are among some of the most collected in the world.
I discovered the artwork James Jean did for Prada on his website about a month ago, and then went to the link for the animated movie that utilizes his designs. Then the other day, my girlfriend pointed out the Prada add displaying Jean-designed bags in the newest VOGUE (one with the so-called controversial "King Kong" cover).
I've heard a number of people crying "sellout" over this. I wonder how familiar they are with Pope's work? That guy has done almost nothing but his own creations, and when he does dip his brush into the mainstream, you get Batman: Year 100. And if this means Paul Pope can do more creator-owned work in the next few years, then pout those lips model-boys and give me playful yet mysterious.
The only people I've ever seen cry, "Sellout!" have been people that don't have to support themselves. This stuff is just cool. I hope it's not horribly expensive. The jacket and the black pullover will be mine.
