Hahahaha - I'm with you on missing shut-eye, but I did manage to grab 6 hours, which is a record as of late. I had good reasons for being awake last night, but a very loaded schedule today. I'm deciding if I hit myself with cocoa or tea for the caffeine - the cup's in the microwave right now.

Back to FreakAngels - I like the fleshing out of their world, so to speak. I'm more fascinated with the bovines. They aren't cattle like I know them, but they don't quite look like yaks either. Puzzling.

The purpose of slowing down metabolism would be to remove the requirements for food or water, slow cell growth/death; maybe even slow aging? Again, I like how they're all, if not family, close lifelong friends, but I suppose that comes with living with other people able to poke around in your head for the last 20 odd years.

Seriously, thats been playing on my mind alot.
It seems to me to be the old "Nature / Nurture" argument, but warped. Sure, you're enviroment is going to affect you, but you can always count on a certain ammount of individuality kicking around in the old thinkbones.
But sharing them with 11 others, from the day you were born?
You wouldn't only get your parents/enviroments influences, you'd get 11 others as well. Thats going to affect you, right? And if it does, how do they retain any form of individuality? Surely, if you spend enough time with a group of people, you start to think the same, or along simmilar lines. Wouldn't 20 years of Brainal interlopers mess with you? Or is that already apparent with them?
If you've got 12 children, born at the same times, across the country, it stands to reason as well, that they're going to be dropped into differnt backgrounds. Are they all London based? Southern? Or an equal spread.
Becuase, I don't know, it might just be me, but Sirkka strikes me as the worst example of Posh School Girl.
Which leads me to wonder where the others hail from.

I was just wondering how they'd go about doing it. Or should I just chalk it up to "its the future. They're freaky"? - Maybe. Or maybe it's one of his/their abilities? Just because they can do things, doesn't mean they will do all the things they can.

Again, I like how they're all, if not family, close lifelong friends, but I suppose that comes with living with other people able to poke around in your head for the last 20 odd years.
Ack. Awful, in my book. Can't get away from anyone. And what if they turn out to be turds, and unlike a room mate you can't get rid of them...oh wait, they did do that, didn't they?

If you've got 12 children, born at the same times, across the country, it stands to reason as well, that they're going to be dropped into differnt backgrounds. Are they all London based? Southern? Or an equal spread.
I hope they are all different, because that would add more spin the story. Backgrounds would influence decisions.

1. On page 2, the way Sirkka is sort of tucking back her hair. I don't know why but I see so much character in that one gesture. I think she's definitely going to be one of my favorites.

2. The whole idea that there's still a sort of community in this sparsely-populated aftermath, illustrated in the way everyone "tunes in" to hear the broadcast from the Watchtower.

On the last page, it looks from the no-tail bubble (or whatever the technical term would be) like Kirk's "we should talk" was telepathy received by Karl despite his tinfoil... maybe because they're in eyesight of each other? Or might the tinfoil damp the "signals" instead of completely blocking them, and Kirk is close enough to get through?

I also note that whatever it is the Freakangels did regarding the "end of the world," the Whitechapel locals (or at least the cattle-herder) seem to know about it, judging by Kirk's "all things considered." And yet they still consider themselves a community with the Freakangels, as opposed to rounding up torches and pitchforks (or shotguns).

I like that people are heading out to fish the sunken streets. I wonder where the herder is taking the cattle to graze? My question to you is - are you writing this as purely as a webcomic or as a preview of the final graphic novel? I know you have a distinct style, but reading it is quite quick, with the limited number of pages per release, is it your intention on doing it pretty traditionally? As opposed to maybe condensing the work so that there is more to pour over per panel a la Watchmen (which I think each issue could be stretched out as 3-4 page acts that would be alot to pour over each week.)

I am now working on my own new webcomic and I am looking at a format where the webpage would be similar to a Terry and the Pirates Sunday Strip so when/if a printed version comes out 2 strips can go on one page which fit the comic book size and have a nice thick layout.
