    It's kind of funny, til you read a little deeper. Then you get into the whole "emosexual" thing and it gets weird, and a little sad that it has to come to this sort of thing.

    Oh yeah, and the whole "Talk to your kids about Emo" thing in Utah is just dumb.

    Actually I think anti-Mexican stupidity, that also appears to be pro-imperialism, possibly pro-gay, and manages to reference rap music and pitch forks is such a specific vein that it might get a rather high return in kilowatt hours.

    Am I still allowed to hate the term "emo?" Emotion has ALWAYS been a part of musical expression. Even instrumental music. The fact that there's a scene trying to wrap itself the concept of emotion rrrrrreally gets under my skin.

    Also, I'd like to add that homophobic punks aren't punks.

    quoted for truth. if you are a homophobe, you clearly only understand punk in a misled fashion. and emo is a useless term that is only good for describing a specific sub genre of music- if it doesnt share roots with say, RITES OF SPRING or SAETIA, its not emo. im sooooo sick of watered down majorlabel poppunk being called emo just because some of these fucktards wear eyeliner and have girl hair covering one eye.

    You know, embarrassingly enough, that is the first time I recognized what 'emo' stood for. Hell, I probably heard the term for a year and a half before I even figured out what it was referring to.

    @joe.distort: True. But nowerdays "Emo scene" has actually not much in common with the early Emocore-stuff which came up around bands like Fugazi and Hüsker Dü, I guess (music and what people make out of it in their fashion sytle etc. has allways had it's own strange ways of evolution) ...

    ugh, this again. nowadays, the emo scene (which i wont even begin with how much people using the term "scene" in non sensical manners drives me to stab) still exists in its real diy form. its just this other poppunk with bad breakdowns, glossy fashion magazine bullshit that ruins it.
    im gonna try to just let this one go...but i am bad at that.
