Band Of Horses new album, which is all kinds of lovely.
Various b-sides and obscure Tori Amos tracks for research/book purposes, trying to decide whether any of them need to be included.
Other than that, a lot of 'mix CDs' including things like Tool, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, the Pogues, Placebo, Roger Miller, and various inexplicible songs
johnny x and the groadies is in my head, and i cannot wait to go home to my turntable, the one true love of my life. one man black metal/grind that sounds like being chased through the must fucked up castle in the world.
Roomie got one of those shower CD players for Xmas. And made numerous mix CDs specifically for shower singalongs. Today, it was "Buttrock for the shower," and the upstairs neighbor got to listen to me howling along with Cinderella and Ratt, Motley Crue, et cetera.
nerdy, nerdy electronic rocknroll sarcasm. great sing along happy music about you know, getting beat up by assholes, stalking enya, and jerks owing you money.
I just discovered Jerome's Dream - a now defunct hardcore band. I usually don't go for hardcore type stuff but this is superb. Oooo been listening to yank crime by drive like jehu. Powerful stuff.
most forum's i've ever been on have been music forums, so peoples tastes are usually similar. it's great to be on a place that's so diverse...
anyway, i've been listening to Vic Chesnutt, the cd he did with the guys from a silver mt zion and a guy from fugazi and a guy from godspeed, it's beautiful stuff. North Star Destroyer.
if anyone's into a siver mt zion, they've a new cd coming out in march, but there's also some really really good quality recordings of their new material up here
@screaming meat- you should look into USURP SYNAPSE, also now defunct. they were friends with the jeromes dream camp, (they actually even did a split 7") and i think they do that style much, much better.
as for me, today has been a TRON day. specifically the FUCKING HARDER THAN THE DEVIL HIMSELF mixtape. brutal fast as fuck deathcore techno.
