I'm in a foul mood, so I'm listening to some Jesu. The hope is that it will let me wallow in my grumpiness while at the same time calm me down a bit. We'll see.
This weekend at the bar (night) job we mostly listened to the radio because we were too slammed to care about what CD was on. Then of course Sunday, since we're all NFL geeks over there, we listened to NFL on the radio.
But last night we did listen to:
Stankonia - Outkast Beats, Rhytms, Life - A Tribe Called Quest Chromeo's album, which I liked a lot more than I probably should have...
Today I'm listening to a free album sanctioned by Jeff Martin of Idaho and available for download on the Idaho archive site:
http://www.slidingpast.com/audio/thedaysmusic.zip
It's incidental music he did for some television show I've never heard of, but the music is great, and mostly in bits and pieces. If you're a Hal Hartley fan you'll know what I mean when I say it's a bit Ned Rifle, but better.
I'm rather liking a band called Morning Bride at the moment. They come from Hackney in London, yet are one of the best Americana artists I've heard in ages. Their album Lea Valley Delta Blues is probably my favourite this year. Their website is http://morningbride.co.uk (I fear I may be turning into their pimp)...
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - In Glorious Times Enslaved - Ruun The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-la-la Band - Born Into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upward Nine Inch Nails - Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D
It took me longer to type that NIN title than it did the full name of Silver Mt. Zion so I think I just lost 3 dork points. Or gained them, not sure which.
