Aside from random ambient via net radio, I find myself listening to the Saul Williams 'Niggy Tardust' download album more and more.
  2.  (16.322)
A few albums on constant repeat:

    Nonpoint's newest album, Vengeance.

Skindred's newest album, Roots Rock Riot.

    Atmosphere's God Loves Ugly.

Hourcasts's first (and so far only) record, State of Disgrace.

To be fair, Nonpoint is getting (as usual) about the three times the play that everything else is getting.

Currently, Powerman 5000 - When Worlds Collide. Nice an loud.

I downloaded the Stolen Babies album There Be Squabbles Ahead the other day to check it out. The new drummer for Dillinger Escape Plan is in SB, so I wanted to have a listen to it, and god damn is it good.

It has a bit of a Fantomas-y vibe to it, but it's less crazy, more structured than that. It's loud and heavy (but not too heavy), interesting and just a little bit crazy.

Now I'm going to have to try and track the album down at a local CD store when I actually have some time away from work that doesn't involve drinking and sleeping.

I confess: I'm too lazy to thumb through 325 posts to see if this has been mentioned already. But I've had Kristin Hersh's latest on infinite repeat for the past couple of days. You can download it right here:

Her new CASH music project is pretty nifty.

williac: a lot of people like crimes, but i prefer when they are faster and more chaotic. i saw them on the crimes tour also, it was ok, but nowhere near the intensity. good to see some other people into some cool shit!

    tonight:
    hot cross-risk revival lp
    nine shocks terror/killers split
    broadways-big city ep

wooo! finished all of my comics from this week, too. today is good.

joe.distort: I admit, I like Crimes, but Burn, Piano Island Burn is probably my favorite.

You should check out The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower. They push some of the same buttons.

While on a trip to beautiful Reno, NV with some friends, this starting playing on my buddy's ipod, and I was immediately captivated. It's a collection of 60's French pop. I love it, and I'm not entirely sure why. It's probably because I don't know what they're saying, and to me it amounts to all catchy poppy goodness with no cheese or fromage or whatever.

Oddly enough it's put out by a night club in Munich called The Atomic Cafe.

Today, I'm listening to Karin Ström's album "En saga om en sten"
It's in Swedish, but I think you should look it up anyway (for you obscure people who like to be obscure)

It's grey, gloomy, icy, and snowy out there today. So, I've got Stars Of The Lid on the headphones, and a hot cup of coffee in my hand. Too bad I have to actually work.

    At this particular moment:
    Metallica
    Dethklok
    Dir en Grey

I don't know what it is, but I can draw a bit easier listening to them.

Other than a large amount of funk and disco that I have been required to brush up on to play at a gig tomorrow (I'm heartily sick of "Instant Replay" by Dan Hartmann), in the last few days I've listened to:

Steely Dan - "Live At The Record Plant '74" (bootleg)
Chicago - "The Very Best Of"
    Alice In Chains - "Dirt"
Divine Heresy - "Bleed The Fifth"
Down - "III: Over The Under"
Shadows Fall - "Threads Of Life"
    Rush - "Snakes And Arrows"
Fall Out Boy - "Take This To Your Grave"
    John Mayer - "Heavier Things"

Those are all that I can remember offhand right now - there's always a record playing unless I'm working or watching a movie, so I've probably missed rather a lot.
