My friend just lent me some Assemblage 23, and I've also been listening to a new find of his called Everything Is Made In China. They're pretty good.

    Completely at random:
Guitar Wolf (Seiji is, quite literally, a god)
Emperor (and if Seiji is a god, Ihsahn is Odin the Allfather)
All of Nick Cave's various incarnations
    Tom Waits The Nicely Ubiquitous
Sixteen Horsepower/Woven Hand (somehow all the Jesus just doesn't bother me coming from Edwards)
And a healthy dose of Wagner followed by a chaser of Purcell's Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary.

Flip-flopping between Travis, The Eagles' new album, the Rogues Gallery album, and some of the unmitigated crap that I enjoy having around in my iTunes.

I can't seem to get "Roscoe" by Midlake out of my head. Best harmonies in 35 years.

Ooooh Infected Mushroom! Nothing like a bit of psychedelic trance to wake you up. My mp3 player has been having a laugh today though. Instead of being stuck on random it appears to have gone into "psychotic break" mode and is giving me such joys as folky protest music next to industrial followed by random pop that Im not even sure how it got on there (feist would you believe) and rounding it out with the prodigy. Hmmmm....

Absurdly addicted to "Love Games" by the Mighty Boosh, after being reminded of it by hearing them play it live on the radio.

My winter soundtrack I think is going to the Minor Threat discography. The only thing to get me through the blistering Winnipeg cold. Fuck yeah.

Right now? Morcheeba. Never heard of them, but it just popped up on Pandora and I'm digging it.

On the 'clean' radio at work:

Shins, Nick Drake, Regina Spektor, Elliott Smith, Fiona Apple, Feist, John Coltrane, Aimee Mann, Dot Allison, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, Jack Johnson, Butthole Surfers, Colin Hay, The Dandy Warhols, Peggy Lee, Flaming Lips, Joey Ramone, Yo La Tengo, Mundy, David Bowie, Alison Krauss.

Or at least, that's what played most recently. Almost time to load the holiday tunes.

In my car: Beck, 'Guero'; NIN, 'Downward Spiral [Remastered Edition]'.

In my headphones, on my laptop: your Last FM station & podcasts.

    Muse "Take a Bow".

On repeat for about three hours.

Yesterday it was the Cardigans "And Then You Kissed Me". For hours and hours.

Malcolm Middleton's album "A Brighter Beat" because cheerful music for the depressed makes me smile
Other than that i've rediscovered terrorvision, therapy? The Wildhearts and(oddly in that company) De La Soul.

A lot of Ergo Phizmiz lately. His whole awkward klezmer/cabaret sound collage thing sounds wonderful to me.
