Placing "an" before a word beginning in a sounded "h" is a vintage grammatical practise. Aside from a few holdovers ("an historical..", for instance), the practise had pretty much died out by 1925 or so. In the time period of AETHERIC, it would still be in use. Hence its appearance here.

This, on the other hand, looks as though it were specifically designed to cater to my whims and exploit my fascinations. Er. Thanks, Warren.)

I really like the one-shot, non-locked-in format for publishing comics stories--moving toward the same sort of flexibility and range that prose publishing offers, for both small and large stories. Fun Home was a great example of that sort of publishing and marketing working for a larger book (albeit one put out by a mainstream publisher and with nonfiction subject matter), and other indie and semi-autobio comics have done very well at it (Same Difference springs to mind, though it has "extras"--other stories included).
