I just read this over on New Scientist. A cosmetic surgeon outlines the process to give humans decorative wings. I'm wondering how long it will be before someone tries it.
Well considering the tone of the article it can't really be a April fools gag I would say. I mean, there is no gag.
It just describes the bone and muscles changes to make an arm into a featherless flightless wing as a thought experiment. Does not offer to do it, claim to have good surgical grounding for the procedure or make any surreal claims. Its really little more then an exercise in describing the evolutionary difference between an arm and a wing.
Not to mention it links to the original article, which again is just a short thought experiment in a hand surgery med journal.
