I am shades elsewhere on the internet and most often IRL

I'm in tertiary education training to become some sort of design wanker

since I quit smoking I take photos of Metal bands (and as I have had trouble finding a photo of any kind I must have become one of those behind-the-camera invisible types)

I used to do a vanity show on student radio

I like Calypso music, anchovies, Sapporo draft (in glass) and growing my own vegetables

    My name is Andy.
By day I write surgical simulation systems and by night I tinker with motion graphics, animation and visual effects, convinced I can make the next great science fiction film in my garage.
I play bass, mutilated guitar and ukulele, which is too much fun to be embarrassed about.
I'm finding this place to be a great resource for new and interesting stuff to read/watch/absorb.
Will upload a face when my web server starts behaving.

Hello, everyone.. and a nod to ramtower, as we're in the same business.

My name is Michael, and am probably interested in roughly the same things that would bring someone to a board hosted by Warren Ellis, but standout interests include pulp fiction, old time radio and new audio drama, and Robert Crais. I also play Guild Wars.

I'm in North Carolina, where I work as as actor in the regional southeast. I'm SAG eligible, and regularly audition for film and tv when they bring their productions here. I'm on stage locally a good bit.

I've done some voice acting for anime, and have attended conventions as a guest... I may do a voice acting workshop at DragonCon this year, pending my acceptance as a guest.

Thanks to Warren for making this a pleasant place to be.

In the picture is a sketch of Doc Savage by George Perez, and above it, The Shadow by Ethan Van Sciver.

    @taphead

    really?
    Boy is my face red.
I gotten the name from the Chung Kou books (By David Wingrove), where the military were descendants of Finnish mercenaries.
And so I always asumed....since in Dutch Hawk is Havik
Thing is, Fins always approached me when I played online games, and asked me in suomi if I was finnish.
Heh, maybe they asked me why I called myself after a bunch of trees.

    let me check.

    Ah.
Seems mister Wingrove named the character after Paavo Haavikko, a Finnish poet.

    I swear.
The internet is for Google, Wikipedia and YouTube .
    And Porn.
    Whitechapel falls in which category?

Keeping the handle though, and sing I'm a Tree by Imani Coppola all week

I guess I should just up and do this.

Hi. My name is Hayley. This is my most self indulgent and melodramatic picture to date.
The stars in the background kind of take away from any statement I was trying to make.

Uphill from there. All that hair is gone as well and that was a good idea.

Live in the Logan Square area of Chicago. I do theatre around here. I also do those other actives of reading, watching films, drinking, etc. that the rest of you bastards seem to partake in.

That seems all that is necessary to say for now.

Hi there - my name is Greg Waller and I'm a colorist at Avatar Press (working on various projects including some of Warren Ellis' stuff (I put the cover of a forthcoming project on the screen behind me...)). Long time lurker, I figured I may as well sign up... and then continue lurking... and get back to working as I drive William and Mark crazy enough as it is without posting here all day...

    -Greg

Hi - I'm Chantel. And I'm only mildly hungover in this picture.

    Photobucket

Let's see - I read a lot more than I write. I've been living in Los Angeles for about 15 years now, and am only just now starting to get used to it. Usually, if I'm not working or reading, I'm riding my bike.

Nice to meet all of you.

Ted has been here far longer than you have, and in my experience has never behaved in such a way that would warrant being called a 'troll'.

Hello, my name is Michael L. Peters, but feel free to call me Mike. Like Dan Wickline, it's taken me a while to get here from the late, lamented Engine. I'm writing this from deep within the woods of Michigan, the land that high speed internet connections forgot.

I draw and write stuff -- comics, as often as possible. I have a story or two and cover(I think - -if the solicitation cover and the final cover remain the same) in/on the upcoming Negative Burn, issue 20 (this month, or possibly next). Here's a smallish image for the cover (hope this works, or you'll just see a mess of code) --
    MedusaNegativeBurn

In the past, I've had a few stories (writing and art) in Heavy Metal -- I drew an issue of Legends of Camelot, from Caliber -- and I was briefly part of a line of books from Image, known as the "non-line" (b&W books - - late '90s), drawing "Unbound", with writer Joe Pruett. I've also done some non-comics art.

I'm currently writing and drawing a comic called, CRESCENT CITY MAGICK. I have yet to find a home for it -- but you can read the first issue/chapter online and see art from the second issue --

I hope to finally meet Warren in Chicago, this year.
