I would of introduced myself when I joined a few days ago, but frankly, I'm incredibly lazy. All you really need to know about me is that I'm awesome. I'm everything awesome than you wish you could, yet never will be. Ta.
Hello. My name is Sean. I'm a bum with a job. Born in Texas. Raised in Miami, FL. Live in Chicago (which I regret EVERY winter, spring, and fall). I love making music. I love sound design. I love comics. I love paying student loans, while not attempting to do a damn thing to build a future. And I LOVE guinness.
I'm Neil. I'm an educational technologist, former online bookseller, publisher of Clarkesworld Magazine, and owner of Wyrm Publishing. All this madness coming from my home by the Great Swamp in NJ. Been reading posts here for a few months now and figured I should probably register for an account.
Hello all. I'm Sean (aka DIGIT). I'm a musician, producer, dj. Been on Whitechapel for a bit and never got around to introducing myself ...
I live in the Seattle, Washington (which I find a completely uneventful place) area but I spent most of my life in Houston and Austin, TX. I spend most of my time writing music (progressive house, trance), remixing, djing, reading comics, watching horror movies, designing my website and laying around with my Pug.
In 2001 I released an album. And this year will see the release of my second along with a remastered version of the first. You can see my website here.
The first Warren Ellis comic I read was "Switchblade Honey" and now ... well, I find most other writing dull. I don't know why but of all of the music and movies I love and writers that excite me the most, almost all of them are English. So, I think I want to move.
My name is Raymond and I can sum up my life at the moment as on the cusp of starting. It's a bit stalled at the moment, pesky exams and school and all. I am really interested in getting into the creative world at some point in my life, whatever the heck that means. This future dream is prevelent inside my head under the fear of ending up in the civil service, a fate which has befallen my older, more talented and well-rounded brother.
I'm Irish.
That deserved a line for itself.
Oh, to bring up an important issue. Those buttons, you see them just below 'Add your comments'? No idea how to use them.
Final item before my attempt at photo implantation: from here on in, in the little posts/threads that I create, I will refer to Warren Ellis/you as THE ELLIS. Why oh why, I do not know.
...
No photo, I'm afraid. Yes, such a simple task as inserting an image is way beyond my capabilities.
Hello, my name is Jeff. I live in a few different places around New England, primarily northern New Hampshire and southern Maine. I'm twenty years old, and I have bad skin and poor posture. I'm attempting to be some manner of artist.
'Allo, I'm Kate. Here is a listy about me: I'm a political science major at a university in the middle of nowhere USA. I read comics and play board games frequently. I hate introducing myself. I used to have a problem with World of Warcraft that led to someone stalking me. I'm twenty two. I loath non-breakfast chain restaurants. I enjoy read, drawing and writing long letters using archaic terminology. I run roleplaying campaigns for my friends.
There we have it! A halting and awkward introduction to me.
Here I am shortly before succumbing to food poisoning from Cheeseburger in Paradise. Vile chain restaurants.
Howdy. Been meaning to sign up forever. Grad school, work, wife and far to many hobbies for my own good keep me quite busy. Live in snowy Minneapolis, used to do video and dvd production, now I'm in school (again) and racking up massive debts, manage a independent coffee shop, and play (which is really a hobby as well, nothing serious I assure you) in a band called "The Automatic Love Robots". I think that covers it. Here's my mug: Nice to meet you all.
That's me, I'm an air traffic controller, a mom of two, a queer poly lesbian, partnered and dating. I read comics, I write fanfic and a little original stuff, and I'm trying to learn how ot play the bass guitar.
hi. My name is Scott. I am currently a resident of Eugene, Oregon. I am currently working on a multi-media Lovecraftian spaghetti western country-western/doom metal/noise rock opera. I am an artist and musician. I always wanted to do comics but I am so terribly slow to finish things. I have a music project called Vivimancer, and another called I.N.R.I.(it's not really important) as well as a couple other sporadic ones called Cephalopod and Ramen Bloodclot. My rock opera will incorporate film, stage play, puppetry, graphic novel as well as both pre-recorded and live music. It will be very epic. I'm not sure how I found my way here, but here I am. I also write rituals and translate them into Egyptian Heiroglyphics and then perform them at heavy metal shows and make all the metal kids nervous.
I'm Brian. 22, former student, current janitor. Living in the Chicago area, but that may change in the coming months, as will the job (hopefully).
I read (anything), write (mostly nonfiction) and take pictures when not pushing a broom/letting my degree languish.
I enjoy myself a long roleplaying campaign, or a good night at the bar. I'm a firm believer that the quality of these events are in the people you enjoy them with, rather than the epic deeds committed or quantity of beverage consumed (but I do concede that said deeds and quantities make for good stories later).
Case in point: some of the most fun I ever had roleplaying involved everyone at the table yelling at each other in outrageous accents for 3 hours. We were sober. I guess you had to be there.
I'm Kevin. Living in Queens, NY. Became a fan of Warren's after reading CIA when it was still on Comic Book Resources, and have been hooked ever since.
My dayjob's in food safety, and I just got word that my first comic will be published in about three months by Free Lunch Comics.
I'd post a picture, but it's difficult to take one of myself after 7 or 8 beers.
My name is Edward, I am the one in the green shirt; the man in red is my friend, T.Papows- Adventurer. This picture is the skate park in Gloucester, Ma. ... or is it Mass.? Anywell, this picture is featured because I think my story and his are backwards versions of the others'.
In case you did not know I am a member of the local Capoeira Mandinga Academia- Meu unbaptized o nome, que aquele a estola de I para myself é Chacal ou Chacal 'bonito'... I have been invested in Stage Acting (that means I actually act FOR people as opposed to FOR THEIR MONEY) for the better part of the last decade; I also have taken it in to my head that I can direct and have been at that half as long. I fancy myself a writer and artist, becasue I would rather not be specific for I do create rather than not, however I could not tell you where you may have seen or read anything publicly. I blog and I put a great deal of my writing, art and photography online at

I am a hermit- like fellow, I dislike a great deal of the human population's behaviors but I am not socially inept. I choose to be out or I choose to be further out, maybe by saying that I enjoy visiting as many of the United States parks as possible. I am very courageous in defense of the weak and I feel the golden rule should be practiced by all, I get mistaken for a man of faith often enough and twice as much I try to advertise my lack of conviction in any mortal explanation for it all. My brain works as best it can skeptically in a science driven, religion chained world.
That being said I love anthropology and science, art and music, books and of course the coined 'graphic novels' (because I have not been collecting comic books since I was nine.)
My creature comforts include whiskey and good smoke in the evening after dinner, the revamped Battlestar Galactica, my garden and my 1981 Ford truck that I have thus far been able to duck selling.
Anyway I think I have rambled enough, you can find things that I do these places too:
Hi. My name's Rich, and I...have no idea what to say when I write these things.
Um.
I write video-game dialogue, I direct voice actors, and I generally do whatever has to be done to make a Japanese game come out in America. I also edit manga and occasionally write flavor text for collectible card games. It keeps me off the streets.
I'm in my midthirties, dangerously insecure, and obsessed with giant robots. I have cyberteeth after a horrible skateboarding accident. And I have a scar on the inside of my left elbow from jumping over a rust-scarred fence when I was young. I did lots of dumb things when I was a kid, and once, I owned a German shepherd.
I'm Chris. I'm also JacKracker online, but, sadly, I do not have a moratorium on that name in the digital world. Been reading Ennis since, yeah, Transmet and Authority.
I design junk mail for a tanning franchise and an ink jet cartridge refilling company. I aspire to better things. I read too much, sometimes, and feel like I'm a perpetual info-bulimic. I go through months of reading, blog absorption and generally gorging myself (on fiction, to an unhealthy degree; but I'm not really picky) and then I spew out a brief spatter of creative material.
I still really just want to write comics. Always have, always will. Graduated with an art degree, am working on painting of samurai killing zombies with an electric guitar.
2/3 of my tattoos are horrible. One of them was done by a drunken old man named Rooster in a small Texas town, the shop chosen because it was open after midnight. One of them was done by my Neo-Luddite friend with a rack of sewing needles attached to a strip of balsa wood (that's one's actually the best I've got).
My name is Ben and I'm about to have a BA in creative writing. I just finished reading From Hell (last night), writing term papers (one on Watchman), Orwell, local publishings, and of course the latest Doktor Sleepless. I write fiction for class and for joy or pain or whatever that persistent pinch in my brain is called. This is my first post, but I've been reading the boards for a couple days, and thought I should get in on the action.
You mentioned in your intro that your account name means "hawk" in Finnish but I've never run across that version, "haukka" being the word we use. Do you know if it's a regional dialect or an early version? (Not being snide here or anything, as a translator I just dig language.)
"Haavikko" does, however, mean "aspen woods" in Finnish. As in a forest of aspen.
