I'm just getting into gear this morning with my hot cup of yerba mate, so I've only gotten so far as Whitechapel, but I was curious if anyone has encountered any good (read:not stupid) April Fools' jokes on the interwebs?
  1.  (1633.2)
    Nope, only stupid ones.
  2.  (1633.3)
No, but we walked around work all day swigging bottles of vodka filled with water every time the boss walked in. It was funny. He was mad...

Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party wins all Zimbabwean seats in landslide victory. "The, uh, elections were, like, uh, totally uh, free and fair, I swear," says uncomfortable man standing in front of a heavily armed police officer.

I'm surprised no one's had that one yet.

That gmail one was good, they do good April Fool's jokes. The only one I've come across is DeviantArt changing everyone's avatars (at least I assume it was them and that they haven't just been hacked) to some stupid fish thing, but that's a rubbish april fool.

There's an article about some newspaper ones here: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/organgrinder/2008/04/stretching_sarko_flying_pengui.html

I posted a "newly released photo" of Dr. Manhattan from the Zach Snyder movie in Scans Daily.

It's pretty damn accurate, therefore NSFW.

Not my handiwork though. Grabbed it from an SG thread a couple months back.

A few of the webcomics I read did:

Lem, who is one this board, and runs the strip Bunny
    Little Gamers
    Cyanide and Happiness addressed it
    Shortpacked

And XKCD, Questionable Content, and Qwantz.com (home of the dinosaur comics) all seem to be in it together.

An email came through from Cafepress.com announcing that they're launching an online dating service that matches clients based on the crap they buy/sell. The testamonials were made funnier by having the male component of two different couples be the same guy.

okay, this is really odd.... how has everyone missed the google one? My girlfriend got a link to 'virgle' on her homepage, but I didn't, and judging by the relatively small number of views on the youtube vids, not many others got the link either. Odd to have such a small-scale joke.
I liked the google one last year: 'toilet broadband'.

EDIT: The veiws seem to be going up on the vids, but just for reference, when I looked late this morning there were only 200 views on the virgle videos.

My inner 14-year-old just shit himself from laughing.

I don't know if this is a joke or not, but it amused me.

For folks who work in offices, write down 385-2100 and the initials L.C. on a post-it. Hand it to a coworker, and tell them that this person called and left a pretty urgent message on your voicemail. Tell them they need to call them right away. It's a nice, light-hearted jest.

@ Derleth: As long as they serve my brands of cigarettes, I'm okay with that kind of afterlife.

Maybe - just maybe - you'll laugh at the stupidity of this one, that tries to poke fun at April Fools instead of just participating in it. I thought the people behind Uncyclopedia were more creative. I know I'm supposed to put "good" April Fools' jokes here, but who knows whether or not this is funny to someone...

    @bschory

Thanks for pointing out the XKCD, QC, and Dinosaur Comics thing. I read those through RSS, so I would have missed the fun. As it was it took me a second to figure out what was going on.

I find April 1st does two things now:

    1) Make the net partially useless, 2) causes people to jump at shadows because they know the net might be useless. Making it more useless.

Neither of these things is desirable.
