    They're great!

    I would suggest recoating them with leather or some similar strappy material, and maybe add some extraneous cabling.

    That'll be $0.02, please.

    There are some possibilities for wires and insulation/sleeving at Antique Electronic Supply - especially under "Wire/Heat Shrink" and "Cables/Musical Instrument" (like this nice cloth-covered one).
