   Anyway. I find it very amusing the media reviews in the US of Sarah Jane insist on pointing out kids should enjoy it, but seem very concerned how it fails for adults. Now, I have not seen it, but it is a spin-off aimed at younger kids...correct?

   i'd rather see a Doctor, who didn't have to run all over hill and dale to solve every problem. Exciting, sure. Predictable, always.
   
   i'm not saying Tennant or Ecceslston didn't do that well, i'm just saying a different POV would be nice.
   
   a female or black or asian or whatever Doctor couldn't help but be interesting then.

   I think they really need to get some mystery back into The Doctor, not the 'Who is he?' kind but more along the lines of 'What is he up to?', kind of like the Seventh Doctor

   johnjones: Just because it's a British institution doesn't mean it doesn't deserve flack. The BBC and the NHS are both British institutions and, oh, they're horrible too (and in the latter case, deadly).
   
   I'm sure you're taking the piss when you claim it's a well-written and well-acted show, of course. There's just no way anyone can say that with a straight face.
